Jokes and brand digs aside Razzle, get stuff that doesnt weigh much to carry on the bike, it’s amazing how much you can end up carrying! Then make real sure you have to carry it all, keep in mind having it at the car doesn’t (normally) let you keep riding its what you have with you that keeps you on the trail.
I like Ollies rag up the sleeve but have one somewhere else on wet rides or sweaty ones as the one up your sleeve gets wet or muddy real quick some rides.
As for the gear for the shed, sometimes if you aint a good mechanic its better to find a mate who is and then get him (or her – don’t want the ladies calling me sexist) to demo how to do stuff on your bike with thier gear/tools, don’t piss em off by continually going back but get the tips then ask what sort of gear they like and buy that cause you’ll already know how to use it.
Like the response Moto!!I walked past mine (back on topic), need to do stuff though, will attend to on the weekend … maybe

Snort!
Nice one TB …. I think he means the XR
Wonder wht Ollie means by “at sea” …. does that make him a seamen??
:blush:axel wrote:Allen key for you handguards.
Phillips SD for the air bleeders on your forks.
Chain breaker to fix broken chain.
Spare chain link joiner.
Flat head SD to adjust your air screw.
Old allen key ground down to a square shape to fit in the power valve dolly.
Old spanner that fits the drain plug on the carbie to drain the water out of there when you drown it.
Spare R clips for brake caliper pin clips (or tie wire)
Old 35mm negative to clean your fork seals when oil starts pissing out of WP forks (isnt that rare?!)
Tube valve removal tool and spare valves (tyre tubes)
Tie wire up both ends of your throttle cable so when a branch grabs it you wont do a Bat out of Hell impersonation.
File or grind the foot brake teeth closest to the clutch cover so when you drop it on that side it wont hole you clutch cover.
Extend the hose breather on the power valve cover so when you wash your bike next the water wont find the breather and make your gbox oil go grey.
When you get tired of cleaning the mud from your airbox or are unlucky enough to drown it in a water filled rut, use bicycle inner tube or similar in all the joins around rear guard and airbox.
Next time you drain your gbox oil be aware of the oil level bolt is in thin magnesium and will strip unless you tighten it with a girl grip. There is a reason that the Orange and Berg bikes are lighter, lighter materials and less of them. You can make your own mind up about the robustness of the design, there are lots of differing stories out there.
Sorry, thought this thread was for G*y Activities, didn’t realise Chris72a had little umbrellas in his scotches …………. my mistake.
Comon Menace, why do you think they list alcohol percentages on our drinks?
So we can work out how well hydrated we are by the water thats left after the alcohol of course!Hey ADMIN, this probably belongs in the Bull Pit … if not now then very shortly….
Screw training, I used to do that and it sucked, I actually sobered up once!
Can it and spend more time drinkin’ :side:I think the cabin that Krusty and i are sharing may still have a free bunk left in it Chris72a, but since Krusty has dibs it’ll probably be the top one, and he hasn’t yet commented on how much he intends drinking or whether he has a flatulence or sleep apnea or is able to projectile vomit.
I’m sure you’d be welcome!
I have the queen bed – for obvious reasons… … thats right, I’m a Yamaha rider!!!
Funny!Cabin booked, spare bunk bed if you want it Krusty!
I’m not biased against Yanks…much!!
:whistle:You got any answers for me Rock Dog?
If I can get a site in the fabulous and popular Nundle Caravan Resort tomorrow I’ll be coming along to this one Boony.
Used to do a lot of shooting in that area when I was a tacker (you know 20s and 30s) keen to see what it has to offer on the bike.
Cheers
IvaI vote with King Bollocks (All Hail Bollocks!! … always wanted to say that !!), Bobs avatar must stay!
In fact … if they dump you Bob can I have it???
For those of us struggling with words, here is the outline of my submission (which you may or may not agree with !!) which you can cut and paste and add your own thoughts into.
Better to make a submission and be counted than to let the opportunity slip and watch our Grandkids circulate in the back yard (if thier lucky) cause there is nowhere else to ride!!To the Committee
I would like to provide a submission to the NSW Public Land Management Inquiry specifically with respect to recreational access.
The main issues as I see them are:
1. Reduction in areas available to off road users concentrates impacts and causes exponential damage.
2. There are key issues that create the situations/scenarios that lead to trail damage as follows:
• Lack of user education
• Lack of input by land managers
• Lack of planning of recreational land use
• Lack of facilities and government spend on public landsThe answers, or my proposed answers:
1. Commitment by Government to managing these areas not locking people out and pretending that this will result in environmental protection when there is no weed or feral management and facilities are not in place for bushfire management.
2. Use planning that is flexible with tracks/areas rested and where possible users segregated by time or distance.
3. Education of users to help protect the Public Land assets and provide a framework to allow policing of use.
4. Recreational users to pay for use to allow funding of education, facilities, policing, maintenance and planning (much like the successful Recreational Fishing Licence Scheme).
5. Engagement with the users associations to gain knowledge and assistance with track maintenance, management and planning. Many organisations are keen to help, my connection with off-road motorcycle clubs and organisations supports this.I’d be happy to assist with the development of draft management outcomes for Public Land if that would assist the committee.
