Quote:Looks good Jak,your quite the handyman.Cant wait fir your ride mate,do you no if XY is coming? Thanks mate. Being a fitter by trade helps. I can do basic welding but thats all. Will pm XY.
Made up me jig today after cutting and then welding (spreading cocky shit). So far its only made for one bike but i cut the steel so at a later date three will fit. I had to also add some strength to the side of the trailer where i put the eye bolt through. Also made up a frame for the spare wheel and jerry can.

“Upside down Miss Jane” :woohoo:
A Mr Sqiggle quote incase you were wondering.
It does make sense and not a bad idea for a few bikes. Although what do you tie the bikes to ?
ha ha ha im old enough to remember:woohoo: :woohoo:
how hot was miss jane;)
just get a couple of u-bolts and mount them to the front corners of the trailer, somewhere out of the way.OHHHHHH yeh justlike what Boony has on his trailer and he said to do this yonks ago,,,,,
you could even weld a jerry holder in instead of one of the bike channels, to add a bit of finesse:laugh:
No offence intended Boony.
I thinking along the same lines as your roping points but with this cage thingamijig.

On the odd time, years ago, when i touched that flavoured paint stripper the alter ego Mike Tyson would come out. Not good for the image.

Quote:i have seen “drop in” wheel mounts that do 3 bikes…(for the future:laugh:  )they are a rectangle of inch square tubing made big enough to drop in the front of your trailer, so it wont slide around, with channels welded in place….presto.
i just looked on ebay as there is usually 1 or 2 on there but no cigar.
this way you dont have to drill holes in the trailer.
How about a quick sketch, something better than ya tug rope sketch though:P
Spose if me bike was orange i would have to lay it down and put a tarp over it. :silly:  :silly:

My budget set up uses a piece of gal purlin at the front to hold the wheel straight works fairly well.
If you had a matching piece where the rear wheel sits it would be better. Then you could run a long channel and bolt the gate up if youve only got a 6×4, try second hand building supplies they are good for odd stuff.
Weld some rods onto the nuts so you can convert back to box for all the other box trailers work.Cheers
My DRZ now rides proudly in my 7×4 box trailer, all i did was welded 2 U bolts at the front,,1 each side, and then when I put my home made fork saver in , I just have to mover the rear to one to shut the tail gate, without the fork saver it fits neatly in the trailer,,I havent had any drama yet.
I didnt put any chanel in to hold the wheel as the tie downs should not let it move and a quick rope around the rear wheel to the trailer fixes that end,,By the way thats her on the trailer for nundle this weekend ,,,,sad hey but I`m keen
Geez there a great looking bike arnt they!!!!!!!
Does this put a lot of pressure on the front gate of the trailer ?

Quote:Hey Jak,if you are interested in a bike traler i know where one is for sale.18 months old,3 bikes,2 10 litre jerry can holders, jockey wheel, mesh floor and loading ramp.Vic Reg.$850.00.thanks anyway Adrian but this trailer is basically brand new so I’ll adapt it for the bike and also will be able to get camping gear on.

Quote:I had some left over aluminium channel that I had had made. Cut some up and welded it together to form a 90 degree angle which I then screwed onto the trailer. A short piece was screwed onto the floor at the back to hold the rear wheel. MAke any sense? Remove the three screws and out she comes. It’s a trailer, so speed-holes are okay! Thanks Shane. I.ve got a couple of meters of 4mm channel which I’ll try and cut up to make a frame.
Did you do anything with the holes in relation to rust prevention ?
Good work on the video.
Always like seeing how it is done specially since i’ve never changed a tyre or fixed a flat, but this sort of thing give you good ideas.
One thing worried me a bit and that is the rod sticking up which you put the wheel over. Looked like if everything was to topple with you on top of it the rod might go somewhere it souldnt.
Other than that for a “pro” read beginner like me these vids are good value.
There has to be some kinda law against posting that.
Just put me off me pork spare ribs for tea.
