Wigster wrote:Great read Amy, I’m glad you are OK after your stack. Concussion can play some strange tricks on your mind so you have done well to get back on the horse, so to speak.
The photo of that slippery clay rutted out track has me gibbering in front of the screen. I’ll have my outriggers out for that bit. Even so I can see a face plant or two in the mix for me, especially as some of the sections might be “challenging for the larger Adventure bikes”.

Your talking yourself in to a spill Wigster 😆
I am looking forward to riding with nobbys, never run them on the bike before and keen to see the difference.
JamesLike the look of that Barrett muffler TB,could be the next addition I think
Just got back from an unexpected ride through St Albans out to Bucketty and back, had thought I was on kid minding duty today so a real bonus. No encounters with the boys in blue either, being double demerits and all so I am well pleased 😆
Looks great Amy,thanks for the insight
Lucky your stack wasn’t worse than what it was.
See you the ride :woohoo:
James
Well done on the promotion,EAGLE and PTW
Longer hours and no pay
Must be job satisfaction

You may or may not be interested and I know artists have their preferred materials that they like to work with. But if you are I could put my old horseshoes aside instead of chucking them out.Send them up either with someone else or if I can make it to the birthday ride.
The amount of times I am asked for old horseshoes is to many to count.Even the Farrier from the site makes these ornamental sculptures for gardens out of them.
I reckon a motorbike and rider made out of horseshoes has a pretty cool irony to it,old vs new.As for the quote, You only go round once.
Cheers James
I would love to have your old horse shoes James.Thank you.
Cheers …spud…No worries spud,I shall start putting them aside

Not today but yesterday I too thought I passed Amy going the opposite direction through Windsor
Shes everywhere 😆
jtb2879 wrote:James I think Snowy is referring to the omega brace shown above that has no front section… if you bought one of them you may have some drama… but as Snowy noted you won’t know about it.My reading is that there was no urine taking at all, rather a ‘caveat emptor’ for the potential omega purchaser… my $0.02 worth, though my wife tells me that I was wrong once
EDIT: I type too slow Snowy beat me to it.
Your right jtb2879
My apologies Snowy, like I said I am sitting here trying to correctly fit a newly purchased Leatt GPX RACE and my post and your post were the only ones on the screen in view, when your post headed with BUYER BEWARE came up I thought you were talking to me,as I had mentioned that I had just bought one.
Trying to put it together properly is taking all my limited powers of concerntration :pinch: Definitely not one for multi tasking sorry again.Cheers James
snowy09 wrote:BUYER BEWAREBy having no restrictionon the front of the brace you are risking the most dangerous over movements of the neck – hyperflexion.
In severe hyperflexion of the spine, the transverse ligament of the Odontoid process can be disrupted allowing the peg to move posteriorly and compress the spinal cord. This injury is termed acute atlanto-axial instability which is a very unstable injury. Similarly unstable injury occurs with hyperflexion and axial loading causing a flexion teardrop fracture, most commonly at the level of C5. The inferior part of the posterior fragment can be seen to displace relative to the vertebra below.
But dont worry if it happens youll probably never have to worry about it -ever again
Just my opinion though – just like a ktm theres no proof it can be relied on.
WTF
I am sitting here as I type this Snowy trying to fit my new brace when I glance up at the computer to read your post, start to doubt my fitting then realise your taking the piss
Rode out to Suttos today, bought new boots and neck brace
Its going to take some getting used to,lane changing was a matter of shut your eyes and hope for the best
micknmeld wrote:Also in saying that, I am lucky enough to have at my disposal a stable of bikes that cover a lot of different disciplines of the sport.I enjoy riding them all, although the full on tar riding tends to bore me somewhat, even though I have the Oxley Highway on my door step and the use of a Buell or a Harley to run up there on.
The extended tar sections on an Adventure ride are different though, as 90% of the time you are covering new territory with new sights. Which I feel is the main reason one embarks on an Adventure ride in the first place.
As I head towards the big 50, the body is taking longer to get over a decent single ride, so I can appreciate the eventual gravitation towards ADV riding as we get older. Even today after riding some pretty steep country at Seaview yesterday on my son’s YZ250F and my XR650 with a group of blokes under 20, my quads are letting me know they are not happy!
Having a stable of bikes Mick,at your disposal may be a key point for a few people,I know it is for me. :pinch:
Would love to be able to have a trailbike in the shed and expierence that side of it as wellbut unfortunately it is cost prohibitive .
As for following Lefty,I will have to devise a plan to hobble him as its his dust that I will be breathing on the up and coming Nav ride
This is going to be a funny day
The responses so far are as I had expected based on what goes on around hear on a daily basis
I guess I posted too late last night and all the other Adv riders were in bed and being Sunday morning are at church so the absence of their responses is to be expected. 😆
As for you brightly clothed beer gutted gentlemen  I have seen the RR, if the body and mind is still willing more power to you,go for it
And STM a 250…….really 😆 your comment on pissing the bed may have the designers at Klim incorporating incontinence pads into the 2014 Adventure range,I know there has been the odd occasion when I have needed such a feature.
Would love to get up to the birthday ride to witness all you lunatics in your element but there is this little ride coming up soon and it may be hard to get a leave pass :pinch:
Bring on the 22nd cant wait :woohoo: :woohoo: You don’t have to read the ride reports 😆
Cheers James
