Welcome to OBT and thanks for the intro. As the crew have stated, you will have a good time with the crew here. PM me and I will give you a list of the members to avoid. :laugh:What are you riding at the moment?
Cheers
MickI think I might be on that list 😆
Was wondering when you would be back Menace, lets just say we disagree and leave it at that
That’s no good Wolfie,
I had mine broken at work under a horse some years back and although it functions it just does not feel as solid as it did.Good luck with the mending and watch out for uneven surfaces
James
Good luck with the days ride, hopefully a trouble free run for you guys today
James
Harsh words Menace,do you make a habbit of kicking people when there down.
Whether or not you agree with live export or not is irrelevant as the jist of the post is about the human suffering and hardship.
I don’t think its wrong to wish for a bit of rain in order to relieve the associated stresses that go hand in hand with drought.Your right its happened before it will happen again and the farmers do choose that lifestyle and roll the dice.
But here in this country be it drought, flood or bushfires we should support each other when the !@#$ hits the fan and leave the political and ethical debate for brighter times

This trip from home to home including tubes and piss everything including extras 2k will cover this one and James it could be done cheaper than we have done it to date.We are having breaky Leigh Creek as I type this. The plan is Yunta tonight but we didn’t have the average speed I thought we would this morning. The ride around the back of Arkaroola was boney as well but unbelievable great ride and great sites
TB
Thanks for the costing TB its not beyond the realms of possibility for me, I will have to see what happens.
Enjoying the pictures keep them coming if you have time
Cheers James

Strapping a 10l jerry to the back of my DRZ400 is not going to cut it.Riding solo so anyone else keen to join me at the back of the pack appreciated. Bonus if got a Montana GPS and can save me time reading the manual the night before.
Steve
Hey isambard,
Had noticed that your name wasn’t on the list, was a bit surprised cause I thought Lefty had slotted you in with himself, Wigster, and me.Thought you may have pulled out on the quite, good to see your still keen.
With TB being away probably explains the absence of your name on the list.James
Buggar Eags, :pinch:
4 grand  don’t think I could justify spending that much on a holiday for myself
leaving the family behind to do the daily grind.
Well emotionally I could    but financially not just at the moment.
Never know what the future holds though, might have to start up a secret savings plan of my own
Would just like too see it for myself one day.Hey Jeffro,
I don’t mind the sound of that too much say 1400 for the week, thats more achievable for meAlthough like Eagle I would need some upgrades on my bike, damper, luggage racks etc etc oh no its starting to look unlikely again
Been watching the tour with interest and envy and would possibly like to do something similar one day.My line of work does make it a bit hard to get large blocks of days off in a row though unfortunately, but I am curious as to how much a trip like this would cost.
I know its hard to quantify as accommodation, food, fuel, and the biggy beer intake would vary from person to person but a rough estimate from either those on tour or others that have done similar would be helpful.
May not have been the appropriate place to post this but I figured the people in the know would be watching.
JamesNickj wrote:Gearing and a Rekluse would tame the beast I’m sure and if I owned one I think it would be a must for regular tight trail riding but then a 250 does it very with stock gearing etc , if where I ride was 50% open trails and I was racing all the time the changes would be justified and the 450 would be the pick of the two !Rookie , did you find the 450 tiring on trail rides before you changed the gearing?
Nick
Looks like the comparison could be more between a vintage 1971 and a more current 1991 model
Do you think that ktm have it right then Nick with the 350 in the middle, and the other manufacturers should follow suit CRF 350x
Sobering news BOLLOCKS,I for one being a city slicker was ignorant of the plight of the people on the land in regard to the lack of rain at the moment.
Its not until prices rise at the cash register do the majority of us hear in the city give our food producers much of a thought something we should not be proud of.
Heres hoping you all out there get the rain you need and if that does not come ,then the support to get through tough timesJames

Been having a brilliant trip. This morning we had Big Red all to ourselves. The beginning of the Simpson looks an amazing, beautiful and unforgiving place. The colours are amazing. It was exhilarating punching the bike up & down that big sandhill. To see all of this and the channel country with my own eyes over the past 4 days has been a dream come true. And what’s better – I’ll be seeing many more places I’ve always wanted to see (since I was a kid watching the Leyland Brothers) before next weekend.Latest scoop – we’ll be leaving very early in the morning for Camerons’ Corner. We’ve decided to go down the Birdsville Track & take the recently re-opened Walkers Crossing route. This track has been closed for 4 or more years, so we thought – what the……. , lets do it!
We have some great footage & photos to bring home.
Catch you all later
Crash
Cant wait to see the vids Crash
I guess your glad you bought the Tenere :woohoo:
