Will keep an eye out thanks Chris.

Didnt feel right commenting before, having never met you but i guess you have had to show some restraint and patience amongst other things lately.

Good luck with it all see ya out there soon :cheer:

    Hey PTW

Being self employed[Farrier] dont really have the 4 weeks annual leave type deal :(

Its more like 4 day weekend 52 weeks a year

So short 1 or 2 night trips not usually a problem, and as for day rides i can generally palm

the horses off on to another day :woohoo:

Suspension it is then thanks guys. :woohoo:

TB those dampers arent the older model ones at adventure moto are they

I had spoken to Steve some time ago about them, i think at that stage he only had one left at roughly half the normal cost.

Didnt get it though as at the time i was saving up for [in my case] a surburban adventure suit 😆

And at 1700 bucks it kinda blew the budget for a while  Mind you it is good and im happy with the purchase.

I dont suppose anyones got this friday off for a ride so i can get the suit out of the burbs :pinch:

    Hey TB
Which mod am i better off doing first damper or suspension. :

Also taking into account it may be awhile before i can afford the second one.Im hopeing that they dont go hand in hand and are pointless one without the other.

If its the damper could you please suggest make/model and where to buy.

    cheers :cheer:

    Hey Chris t

Thanks for the heads up regarding longer trips,i know TB had said as much in his post.As for the smoothness of the bike,i dont know if its my bike or not, but a mate of mine has a 950 super enduro which he let me have a go on last thursday. B) .

Just a short ride mind you,and not as fast as i would go on mine 👿 but i was surprised at how much smoother engine/suspension was.

Not only that ,the overall feel weightwise of the bike was less and as far as i know they are very similar in weight :unsure.

Which makes me realise i need to get the ten sorted as its suspension is somewhat lacking atm.

Ace, once ive been on a ride theyll be taking the piss outta me too.

    Sorry guys,

Didnt mean to open up a can of worms[although i did realize there would be favouritism]. 😆

It wasnt meant as a vs argument more the fact the pilot not being up to the job just yet.

However looking forward to getting out on a ride for some tips real soon. :cheer:

    Hey nickj,

I hear you in regard to fast open dirt roads,as most of my riding is done up through St albans common to Bucketty/Wattagans,and bitumen to and from.

Not being able to afford to run two bikes i just figured the 690 might just tick a few extra boxs for me.

That said, after reading your opinion on the 690s ability on fast dirt roads im not so sure.I do enjoy that sort of riding and even get a kick out of some the twisty roads in my area.

I suppose im wondering whether it would be money well spent and transform the ten in to a better bike
along the lines that both you and TB have done, and once done how much of an improvement/difference
    can be expected.

After reading the coffs coast ride report where there were 6/7 adv riders to 40 dirtbike riders [just guessing numbers] makes me wonder whether its more fun single track, which is why i find myself asking the question, bearing in mind its all new to me.

    Thanks for the reply Boulder,

I guess where im coming from is that ive still got 6 months on p plates so cant get the 690 just yet anyway.
So in the mean time the teneres it,the question for me is whether or not to mod and farkle away or save the dollars, and when the license allows, get the lighter 690 to compensate for a lack of riding ability.

Like i said before im really happy with the tenere i just struggle with it in slow/tight situations. So my thoughts were that the 690 may be more manageable in similiar conditions.

But like you say if all bikes need xtras i might just mod the ten.

Cheers dirthopper and strucky, thanks for the warm welcome.I shouldve joined up long ago for tips and advice, but better late than never.Anyway might just have to go for a bit of a squirt before i have to pick up the kids from school, just on the road but hey,the teneres a lot of fun for that too. [be lucky to keep the license,P plates aarrhh.]

Hi jeffro, I do remember passing by somebody but i couldnt have told you what bike they were riding as it takes all my concentration just not to have a head on.Watch the clip of that T intersection could have been real nasty.Oh and TB that 2 day ride in feb sounds like the go,probably more suited to me than some of the other more adventurous oldbull rides that seem to go for longer periods away from home.
