No worries Dennis, we will be meeting at the Old Oak Milk bar at Peats Ridge at7am, ride off at 7.30 SHARP
That SHARP is for you James if you are bringing Wolfman with you like I hear on the grape vine
TB
No worries TB, always on time when meeting people just ask Ace,Mickp and Ollie   :pinch:
My sons 9th birthday party on Saturday so have to give the camping a miss, save that experience for Woodstock
Does Wolfman have a habit of being late ? Hope he knows where the Old Oak Milk Bar is
Chicken wrote:Hey James, got the Rox risers thanks a lot, I have been up in north Queensland for a few days so the boys didn’t getem out of the letter box.
Fitted them straight away with out too many hassles ( may be cause TB had already played around with the routing of the cables??)
Few adjustments after a test ride but I am wrapped greatly appreciated will fix you up with more than just a couple of beersAwesome Chicken, great to hear you could use them
bloody things gave me all sorts of grief trying to get them to fit
   Those make mine look brand new Boulder
Chicken wrote:I hope yours are ok cause I am using stock and only stock tyresI am just trying to be thrifty [tightarse]
Chicken like to get my moneys worth out of them and if I am honest my abililty doesn’t really call for them to be in tip top shape
As for your tyres if there the Tourances you want to hope for dry weather, they are woefull if its muddy
Is this going to be a new tyre ride or will well used 606s get me through TB  The way I ride I would say they are good for another 500 klms give or take

pete the wulf wrote:If anyone is worried about camping at Woodstock pub, don’t be. For those that haven’t been there, its is a very comfortable grass lawn and the hospitality that we received last time was first class.PTW
I would go as far to say the grass is luxurious PTW   Woodstock pub is ideal as a stopover on a nav ride, I am sure there are photos of the beer garden somewhere
Let me guess you got a room right
Looks like you have another great weekend mapped out for us all again TB :woohoo:
Thanks heaps, I really enjoyed the last one at Woodstock

Trailboss wrote:Trailboss wrote:james wrote:Looks like I might be tent shopping then, either that or have a early morning start :blink:Wont you need a tent or some sort of camping setup for Woodstock on the two day anyway?
TB
This is true TB, but with that ride 10 or so weeks away there are other items on the never ending wish list that I would have liked to have got first so I will weigh it up.
Either way I am still keen to tag along, so shall begin tent research and see what I find, problem is one thing usually leads to another and before you know it, not only am I explaining a cheap ebay tent but the racks and wolfman luggage that are absolutely necessary    for me to have on these camping trips if I am to save accommodation costs.James
Chicken wrote:Hey thanks James what size are the risers
pm me what $$$ you want for them.
ThanksNo $$$ needed Chicken, free to a good Tenere home,
seems to me what goes around comes around in one way or another on OBT hope you can make them work.
As for sizes not 100% sure but I would say that they would give you 50-60mm height max but that does change with the bars forward or back  Handlebars can either be the standard bars or fatter ones.
If in doubt give TB a shout  , he saw them when they were on my bike although he did point out they were too far forward ,but like I said I had trouble with cable lengths and clearances on full lock with the barkbusters.
Cheers JamesChicken wrote:Loved it first time off road, stock tyres no dramas at all
just need some bar risers I look like a half squating pryingmantusI have some rox risers you could have Chicken but I don’t think they really work as they are too high and there wasn’t enough cable even after re routeing.
Just got a new damper on mine which with the risers, raised it up maybe half that distance and happy days.
In saying they don’t fit it could be more to do with my mechanical abilities :pinch: but they are high.James

Whats the name of the pub TB, was thinking it may be easier for me just to stay at the pub Sat night and meet everyone at the startline  rather than riding up in the morning. Yet to buy a tent and might as well travel light for a one day ride.
James
Hi James, the pub isnt a pub (my bad) its a golf club but does feeds and sells beers. It will be a camp only setup I am afraid
There are a few driving up (I may even to save the road miles on my new bike) in which case camping and tents shouldnt be a problem. The cars can be parked at a safe location at the old Oak milk bar Peats RidgeTB
Looks like I might be tent shopping then, either that or have a early morning start
Teknik wrote:Seahorse,
I’ve used the SKF bearing so far but it’s pricey at $117 from SKF. There is a Chinese equivalent at $55 but we would all rather not go there.
Suggestions?Whats the whole job cost Nick
Cheers James
