Always sad news to hear this happening. Good to hear he has a lot of strong support and will hopefully recover as best he can, spinal cord is always bad. Always a fear with this sport
Hopefully more organisations like these guys wingsforlife.com can help. They are doing great things and working towards repairing these kinds of injury’s .. we can only hope.

Just been reading through this thread and it is sad these days that tree changer people have become that selfish.
I notice this when I head up to my parents house (100 acres), same as most people’s experience, all the neighbors fire up the ride on mowers from 7am on Saturday till 8pm on Sunday. If I so much as roll the red rocket off the back of the ute, bang on the door step “do mind not riding that this weekend ….. we have company” …. drives me nuts.
No easy answers
Might be also worth going above the local council’s head, one thing I have found useful in my work industry (not sure how it would translate to this scenario) is the NSW Ombudsman, they do tend to fight for good and evil, and they are legislated to mediate in the first instance, might be worth a shot.
On the matter of the council order, have they had any legal advice ? not everything council’s do are legal or true to the act (after all they are individual’s interpreting the law
), sometimes best to use the law against them
.
Good luck to them, no easy fight there !!!!

Did the same same in September this year:)
Settled on the CRF450X for a few reasons, had always ridden XR’s so honda was very familiar, couple of grand cheaper (extra to spend on bling for new bike), CRF has plenty of power for me (more than enough actually ) I reckon the 530 would have been too much for me.
Con’s – none so far, a few people have said valves will go etc, but lets see, I reckon with regular oil changes and good maintenance she should last the distance.
Just my two cents worth.
Enjoy the new bike whatever you get

Hi Rusty,
I just joined a few weeks ago, northern Sydney so not far away, haven’t met up for a ride yet, but guys on the site are super friendly and heaps of advice.
Looking forward to getting out on my first OBT ride, and meet up with everyone.
Cheers,

yup I’m going this weekend, rain hail or shine, with friends or nigel-no-friends. Will take it down to the local footy oval if I have too
Hey Krusty, thanks for the good info, Brendan from S3 sorted me out, getting a new muffler as well, seems like a top bloke there.
Thanks again.
Spiffy job on the XR just looked through that thread as well, damn fine work.

Sounds good, need to get in as many as I can … wife’s instructions was use it or lose it …..
Dumb question, but the rides will be located in the calendar section or in a forum section, just want to make sure I’m looking in the right place.
Cheers,
Sneezy.
