I was told once that we don’t have rules against using knobby tyres on the road and that the only measure of legal and non legal we have is tread depth. The not for highwaqy use just means they are not meant to run at high speeds for extended periods of time.

Not sure if it is true or not but it gets me through rego whenever I have been asked about the legality of my knobby tyres.

You need to check for free play Wigster. Get the back wheel off and see if there is any rotaional free play in there. You could try checking with the wheel on as well but it may be harder to determine as the axel bolt/nut will have it in tension which may hide it.

    Thanks Guys.

We had a double celebration last night, it was my GF’s birthday yesterday and mine today. We went out for dinner then went to pub and had a ball drinking Scotch, Vodka, Tequila, Zambuka (spelling) and of course beer with a group of people, even had a food fight at one stage. It was about 4:00 am by the time I went to sleep, got up around 9 feeling better than I should and relaxed for a while before heading for work at 11.

    Round 2 tonight, today I am 48 going on 20 :D :D

They seem to have a tradition where everyone has to feed the birthday person some cake.

I’ll be driving down from Newy in my ute with my WR on the back Jeffro , I can pick up you and the bike and we can share the fuel costs , that’ll give me a bit more money for beer  .

I am in the Warners bay area where would you be wanting to be picked up from ?

    Cheers
    Alan

    Thanks Al, much appreciated.

I am in East Maitland, it might be easiest if I just ride to your place and load it up there. We can work that out when I get back, I will be home on the 22nd of April.

    Thanks again Al

What you gonna do about getting the Ten to Jindy and back Jeffro ???
Not that it is strong enough, but don`t forget your MoTow bike carrier is at my place mate 😆

Maybe you need to book a Ute for a hire car this trip home mate ????
Just another thing to think about along with your rego etc

Yeah mate I have thought about that. I could just ride it down and back but if I have any mechanical or injuries it could be a drama.

Some options are hiring a ute or seeing who may going from or passing through Newy that I can bum a lift off. another one is that I was planning on driving from Brissy up to see some family in QLD then head down the coast and catch up with my son on the Gold Coast. He has my ute there, I could maybe leave him the hire car and take my ute then he can come down later and drive the ute back.

I don’t know that I would like to put the Ten on the Motow, maybe a bit heavy for it and beside, I don’t know that you can hire a car with a towbar.

    Way to go Jeffro.

    Fire that old Tenere up.

    Wigster

I will have to get the old girl registered when I get back. I let it expire thinking I would most likely not need it for a while.
