Like Dan, my bike sits where I left it last night, the hands, arms and back muscles are a bit sore. Still can’t believe the distance we covered or they way we kept the pace up all the way. I even have a bruise on my arm from getting roosted by Dan on the tar, might have been one of his knobs coming off.
Well done Boony, 1500 posts, one of these days your going to have to do some work
Quote:Wait til I balance properly then we can photo shop it and make it look like I’m doing a stoppy
Some of the memorable moments for me were;
Day 1
Seeing TB look like the creature from the movie Predator with his spot lights on his helmet.
Riding through the Watagan’s in the dark
My face freezing up as we road through the Laguna Valley and not being able to talk properly because my lips were numb.
The A Track along the power lines through Yengo
Turning up at the first fuel stop from the gerry cans and seeing the girls had even fitted the nozzles on to them ready top go.
The tracks through the Gardens of Stone Forest
The snotty rocky tracks of Capertee and pulling up because of a flat tyre and having Boulder pull up behind me saying he had a flat as well.
The Slippery hill at Sunny Corner where i met the tree
The sleet on the goggles as we tried to find our way out of the forest and into Lithgow
The hot shower
Great company for dinnerDay 2
1001 U-turns on dead end tracks
Bacon and egg rolls for breakfast
Taking off at one stage and having the DR pinned in 3rd only to have Dan pass me on the back wheel.
The great track we found on the way home that just wound it’s way through the bush, awesome.
Beer at Laguna.
Dan’s good humour as it seemed to be pick on Dan day all weekend.
Getting home and showeredthanks again guys and girls for a fantastic weekend of riding.
:woohoo: What a weekend, some of the best and worst trails I have ridden. 3 dirt naps (or more 1 rock nap and 2 sand ones) and 1 tree that I got up close and personal with. Pictures were few and far between due to the big distances we had to travel.
I was trying to get a glimpse of some of the scenery but was geting whiplash trying to turn my head tha quickly. At times it was some of the fastest riding I have ever done, the only way to improve the riding skills though.
Thanks to Boulder the super sweep, Crash for the loan of the tube and the gas cylinder, I will get your replacements to you as soon as I can. Thanks to TB for the organising and Dan for being Dan (in all fairness to the retread he did seam to spend most of the ride on the back wheel. Thanks also to the great support crew of Kylie and Salina, always where they were told to be, on time and in good spirits (all women should be like that
 ), great job girls.
The rear tank worked a charm, the first time I got 63Km out of it, the second time I only got 55km but may have lost some during my 3 lie downs, then 63 again and 75 on day 2 when we had a fair bit of road work.
Thanks also to Chicken for looking after our cars while we were out having fun, shame you missed it mate.
Thanks go too to Mal5.1 for joining us for dinner and bringing his lovely missus too, it was nice to meet you.
I think I need to have a little lie down now, everything aches but well worth it
 .

Quote:[Jeffro you know i will be wanting a report on that bum tank,,especially how hard it is to get you leg over and the extra range you get, I`m ordering one for the syd to bris ride..
hey it looks alright.
cheers boonyThe tanks isn’t much higher than the tool kit
There a bit of a pain in the butt to fit, mine was anyway because of a home made bracket I have that holds the after market tail light. I would have thought also that as the dr already has holes in the guard that they would have put the bolts on the tank to suit instead of drilling having to new ones.
The rear tank is on and connected, I modify the brass T-piece I bought but it ended up causing a leak so I have stuck with the plastic one for now. An in line filter came with the package thanks for the tip anyway Boulder. I have been for a test run (6Km)and the fuel is getting through fine so far.
All I need to do now is get all my gear together, fill the gerry can and I a good to go. Look out snow, here we come yeeeehaaa. :woohoo:
Thanks mate, he was going to try Pirtek for me. I would much rather have everything sorted well before 8.30 but we will see what happens.
I was just going to ask if you knew where i could get the brass fittings. I have the storeman on the job now, he used to work for a couple of different bike shops so hopefully he finds something. If not, what time will you be in newy so I can grab the bits?
I have been on a few other sites (Trailmates, DBW, Trailriderz) and always used the same name. The only one I have much to do with these days is Trailmates as I work with the guy who started it and a few other guys.
I was also a big fan of Penthouse Forum at one stage :woohoo:
Welcome Bear
The rear tank turned up today so I have fitted the tank and run the fuel line but there isn’t enough room to fit the t-piece between the fuel cock and the inlet on the carby with the one they sent me  . I was going to get a brass one anyway but now it needs to be shorter to fit.
I’m also worried that the fuel may not get through from the back tank because the line has to run uphill at one point. Does anyone else think it will be a worry or will there be enough suction to pull it through?
I had a cottage away from the park booked, I’m not sure what the cost is because it was organised by Giselle. Let ne know if you want it and I can get you the info.
I am out of this ride now fella’s n ladies
. I am heading to Indonesia with work for about 4 weeks, I am not sure when I will be leaving but it will be within the next 2 weeks. Sorry to miss it but I am sure you will all still have a great ride without me.
