Nice Scotty, very nice. I hope it gives you as much trouble free running as the WR did.

Went over to do a bit of a pre-run this morning. Turns out today is the first day the beach has been open to traffic sincde the storms a few weeks ago. Rangers everywhere and no dune access, only the beach front open for business. Rego and permit checked at the car park and then again on the beach.

Managed to flip the WR on a hill a rip the tail of it  so that was the end of my ride, all up about 50 minutes  .

Not sure if this ride will go ahead now as this is the last weekend I have free before the date to find my way around unless someone else wants to lead. Talking to one of the quad riders the rangers have been patrolling the dunes quite heavily the last few months keeping people out of the no go areas.

Not much gets past you does it Mick :D. I may look at doing the scrapheap ride next year, depends on if I get motivated to play at being a mechanic/auto electrician in the mean time. He tells me the motor in it is good and I have tried starting it but there seems to be a starter/relay type problem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, oh gee, where have I heard that before?

I picked up this 96 model (mine is 95) just for parts the other week. The rear shock on it has just been serviced so I will look to swap them over at some stage. The scrapper also has nobby tyres so I will swap the wheels over as well, I also have new cush drive rubbers for it.

The only short coming then (other than the rider) might be the fuel range but it may give better economy now. Before the Lefty effect :D I had gotten as little as 180km out of the tank when riding it hard. I can always look at rotapacks or similar if I need to.

Is it a single carby Lefty? I thought I read or heard somewhere that it had twin carbies.

Nice write up there King Bol, a good reminder of the need to not only wear, but wear correctly your safety gear.

The bike is the easy bit its getting the boots back to new that gets me!

I treat mine the same as the bike, truckwash and the pressure washer.

I do the same Jeffro then give them a generous spray with tyre shine so they’re easy to clean next time ;)

    Nick

Never thought to use tyre shine Nick, I occasionally spray some WD40 on the buckles is all I do after cleaning.

I would have loved to be on this ride Mick but this is a work weekend for me, plus I still don’t have my replacement starter relay. I could live without the starter motor working but not being stuck on

Good stuff Chris, the results that is, not the red wine. :D
