Not sure what you mean by death wobbles Scotto, is it just the wobble in the bars when riding in a straight line on the tar or something else. Some nobby tyres will cause that, a steering dampner will probably helpwith that and also with deflection off rocks and ruts and the like.
So turns out there were two problems, a bad connection at the connection for the ignition (fixed) and the battery just died. This morning it had enough charge to make a clicking sound and an hour later absolutely nothing, completely dead. Even with jumper leads to another bike and a battery charger it would only wind the starter over without engaging it. Bypassed the battery and away it went so I disconnected it and hooked the jumper leads directly to the bike cables and again it fired straight up. Just need to buy the right battery now, the spare I had is for the tenere.
An easyish fix in the end but still a pain in the you know what especially since I drove 3 hours and paid for overnight accomodation Friday night for the ride .
It was still a good ride thoughJeffro wrote:So this morning I hook the jumper cables to the bike and find the problem straight away,Quote:Oops, spoke too soon, I found one of the problems straight away. Fixed the first problem which was getting power at all, still can’t get it to turn over though. Going to put a new battery in it I have and try that.So this morning I hook the jumper cables to the bike and find the problem straight away, I knew I should have tried that yesterday but couldn’t be bothered.
I think I am going to pull every electrical connection apart a whack a bit of grease on them to try and prevent these bad connections. Will that help?

A mate of mine snapped his ACL doing Karate one night, he was back training the following week (with limited movement of course) and kept training until he went under the knife.
I’m there!!!
What time does the ride start? Have to decide whether to come up Friday night or Saturday morning.
I would love to do this trip but seeing as I told the misses I couldn’t get time off in june to go away with her because we would be flat out at work during those few months, I probably can’t explain how i could get time off in july.
