I recckon I know the hill you are talking about too, I couldn’t get up it last time if it’s the same one
Some nice riding around that way hey Kat, thought about heading there yesterday but thought it might be a bit wet for solo riding after what happened to me there last time.
Gotta say I was surprised by the numbers, I new it was a pretty big deal but I had no idea how big. As Eagle said, I had some cl;utch problems due to the bike overheating the oil(the tenere has an oil cooler radiator) I guess but with all the slow moving and stop starts with hot bikes all around I ended up with having no clutch (or is it all clutch  ). When I pulled the clutch lever in as we would come to a stop it had no effect and the bike would just keep going, so I would go hard on the brake and stall it. I couldn’t even knock it into neutral while on the move and even once I had stalled it I had trouble finding Nuetral so in the end I just pulled off to the side and waited for it to cool. After about 5 to 10 minutes I fired it up and the clutch was working fine again but the traffic was still very slow moving and stop start. The road out of Stockton runs parallel to the river and there is about a 20 meter grass area between road and river so I used that to get out to where the running was better. By the time I got onto the main raod I had no idea whether Eagle and Ross were in front or behind me.
Reaching the foreshore there were even more bike than there had been at the start point and I know there were heaps more coming in behind me so it definately a well support charity event. As luck would have it there was Eagle just as I was held up by other bikes parking so I parked up and we made our way to the donations tent. After that I grabbed a quick drink and met Eagle back at the bikes where we went our seperate ways.It was nice to meet 44, a very nice very funny bloke who stole the show on his little bike and also to catch up with Eagle and Ross (whom I had forgotten I had alrady met) again.
Nice! I had one for a while DRool, godd bike for long distance hauling or wizzing down to the shops and pretty capable off road except for the low clearance.
Yeh Eagle, I am still planning on going as long as it’s not raining.
G’day Muz,
I used to have a 95 TT600, nice bike, just wanted the elec tric leg or I might still have it. I am from the area as well, look forward to getting out there with you one day

Dude
NOPE,
That was a TRANNIE Dude
Honda TRANSALP to be more precise :laugh:Our old mate Jeffro has had a few , its hard to keep track
Correct there Eagle, I quite liked the Transalp it was just that it was an imported model and hard to get parts for.
As for having had a few, you have to try them to know what works you I guess, thats part of the fun.

The red knob next to the choke, on the bike that is, not Huskybloke
Sorry to hear about you getting the finger Mooose
To everyone that is going, you lucky, lucky bastards. Have a good time and stay injury free

You know me Bol, I don’t need any help scratching them up
Was thinking of joing that myself Eagle. Just happens to be on my weekend off too.
It is certainly in good nick for the age of it, I wanted something that I could do the long haul adventures and that Giselle could get on the back of for a local cruise as well. I had considered the 690 but it wasn’t really going to be comfortable for the 2 up trips and I didn’t want to fork out the bigger bucks for a new Tenere. Like I said, it has a some K’s on it but even if I have to spend a grand or 2 getting the motor overhauled it is still cheaper than a new one. I actually put a post on the ADV wanted to but section and this guy responded that he would be parting with his at the end of the month and just went from there. When he sent the photo’s, (and the top one is one he sent me) I thought they must have been old because the bike looked so new but after seeing it in the flesh a couple of weeks ago I was very impressed with the state of it. There are minimal scratches on the fairings, the seat has been recovered and there aren’t even many signs of the usual scuffing you get from boot rubbing on the frame.
As for when we are going riding Nick, I don’t know yet. I need to get to know the bike a bit better and probably get the motor freshend up before I go too far with it.
