You can see the trail running off to the left on the sharp bend at bottom left corner of the picture.

Could that have been the Old Convict Trail (Old Settlers Rd) by any chance ???
Links up to Howes via South Link trail

I like using the ESRI Topo maps lately as they have some more detail in some areas ,
Maybe the trail you took is on here Jeffro

No mate, not Settlers, that was maybe 10 or 15 k’s further up thecroad towards howes. The closest road I found was The Old Bulga Rd. That trail is on the opposite side of the road and heads towards Denman and maybe links with Commission Road

Have seen that sign many times its sparked my interest now. Jefro are you happy with your 690 , have just just ordered one

Yeh Mate, very happy with the 690 so far. I only bought it before the high country ride and it had crap tyres and the suspension had been lowered but it still went ok. Since getting Teknik on the suspenders and giving her some new shoes it is much better. Just need to get used to having a good front brake.

It would need a bit more ground clearance than that King.

As of today I would say yes they are shit. Oldfatbeermans has died on us in the middle of Myall river forest and we are piggy backing with one battery between us until we get onto decent roads for towing. Should have head breakfast and really want some lunch now. This could take a while
