This is the dampener
This shows the the original clamp, the raised sections are mount point, note the space for cables to pass.
A bit hard to see properly but the bracket with a hole in it is meant to go up against the front of the clamp but the speedo is already touching at the top
This is the new clamp with a bit less clearance
And these cables are meant to go between the speedo bracket and the clamp. The only worries are the throttle cables but as TB said I can re-route them. (Which I had considered but laziness kept me hoping I wouldn’t have to)

There were no instruction that came with it but I am pretty sure it is the right way around, the post and the settings dial (1 to
are at the back but there is another dial thing at the front that has 3 setting M, C and D. The triple clamp mount point for the speedo are in th right place just too far back to be of use.
I took some pictures and will post them up, would begood if you want to come around, I can be home by 3 tomorrow if it suits.I can’t say for certain yet, my current employer is closing down over the next couple of months and I don’t know where I will be working by then so I’m gonna say ditto to what Krusty said.
The Past is hearsay, The Future is unknown, Live in the moment.”
At this point in time yes…
Ditto!

Make sure you are not overfilling it Aido, the water level should be only about 1cm above the fins. If you overfill it then as it heats up and expands there is too much pressure and it starts to vent which seems like it is overheating. I had a similar problem with my 2005 Fe550 but once I found out about the level it became less of a problem. It can still happen in tight singles but not as often, I make sure everytime there is a delay I turn it off to help minimise it a swell.
Huskybloke used to have the same problem with his Husky TE510 and switched to Engine Ice to overcome it.pete the wulf wrote:Just saw this and thought lotsa may have gotten some new riding gear
I didn’t look inside the mag just in case he did  :laugh:Sorry Lotsa, I don’t know you and haven’t ridden with you yet but I couldn’t help myself

Some great riding there that’s for sure, you guys will have a great time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, AGAIN, BASTARDS
I’m sure our resident techy will be on to it as soon as he logs on and finds the problem.
I have never heard of anyone warming their chain. I just give mine a hit with the pressure washer (not too close with the nozzles though, usually keep it about 8 to 10 inches away) then spray with either WD-40 or lanolin. I don’t apply the chain lube until the day I am taking the bike out the next as part of my ride preparation
Definately hard work thats for sure. I was exhausted last year after doing both loops on the Saturday with only a 20 minute break for lunch between the 2, I got really good at riding with my butt glued to the seat and my feet glued to the pegs because I didn’t have the energy to lift either
I think it improves your riding though with all that brake and clutch work.Ahhh yes, Moose engineering at it’s finest
I have just looked into insurance, both life and income, after coming off on the hampton ride and injuring my shouder, then on the wauchope birthday ride some guy randomly pulled up in a car and gave his insurance sales card to a couple of the riders. That got me thinking about it, I had never had income protection before as I had worked at the same place for 20+ years and had accrued almost 6 months worth of sick leave when I got back into bikes a few years ago.
I emailed a few different places asking for a quote, 2 of which were insurance brokers, they rang me and sent me some emails with quotes and other details and from that I made a decision as to which company I was going with. They rang me yesterday (all pre-arranged) to go through the sign up and I was on the phone with them for about 20 minutes answering health questions but nothing was asked about racing or outdoor activities. That being said I don’t know that we had finished with the questions, we got onto my shoulder injury which is still being diagnosed (MRI in 2 weeks time then can’t get back int the specialist until a month after that) they decided to not go ahead with the application until I had a full diagnosis at least.
So long story short (too late now for the short though really) insurance brokers might be your best option, this is the one I was going with, the sales people are actually finacial advisers as well.
http://www.iselect.com.auI was pretty sure I heard you and Mick talk about it before as being a good run but wanted to make sure, got 2 days to fill in so will get in some exploring as well
Are you going to post a link to the spot trackers?
Enjoy the trip guys and remember, it’s about the trip, not the destination so don’t bust yourselves up too much trying to keep schedule.
