    Hey KFPanda,

I was nice meeting you today….. It blows me away you can be out in the middle of now where…. meet up with a fellow rider………. crap on about nothing…… then find out your an Old Bull…… Theo told me you had fun getting around me when you past us…….. girls always have big butts…. and hog the road…. but you got thru ok….. It was funny fanging past you with your bike on the trailer. We ended up back in the Watagan’s and had some serious mud fun on Prickely Pear Road…. I fell twice then we tried to help two blokes in their ute trying to tow out some trailbikes and got bogged. We didn’t get out till 6pm.. and home by 8.30pm. anyway will be posting up ride report shortly with photo’s. Theo was REALLY stuff by then….

    Hey Riggs,

Sounds like the BB Rally lived up to its famous name for another year. I hope they don’t stop you from riding thru there as it’s the most amazing place to ride.

I hope its not to sore today and ready for another ride soon….. take care….. by the way I love the photo’s.

    Well ?????

What was the damage to the good old plastic ????

    Didn’t feel a thing.

Well just finished in the garage pottering around on the bike. Had a fantastic day….

Got out there right on the dot at 9am. I was like a kid in a candy store. We firstly thought about the rack for the soft panniers and as expected its not going to be easy. Steve is going to talk to Barretts and see what they recommend.

We were able to put on a top rack and thanks to Steve and his mates we headed down to the ‘man shed’ and it was installed whilst I watched. I was drooling in the shed. It was my type of shed.

Bought a Spot Tracker and cradle and installed and activated it once I got home. I worked out that my pivot pegs mark II on my CRF230 fit on my XR400 so swapped them over. I also bought a wolfman waterproof day bag and filled it up with my tools. Lastly under advice from other OBT’er I got a UTag. So I’m one more step closer to getting ready for overnighters.

So still on the shopping list:

    1. Rack
    2. Soft panniers
    3. cooking stove and stuff
    4. GPS

Steve at Adventure Moto was extremely helpful and provided lots of guidance and recommendations and on top of that got his hands dirty. Thanks to the discount the credit card didn’t scream in pain….. but looking forward to doing more business with Steve to finalise my setup.

Thanks Steve and I hope I get to ride with you one day soon so I can fly the Adventure Moto flag.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I think you guys are right regarding the fuel…. I think I will just go the fuel bladder instead. But thought I should get something to carry water.

Anyway…. haven’t been able to sleep… I’m cruising sites to work out a route for my first solo overnighter.

    Hi Teza,

Good to hear that you’re getting out on the bike … that shoulder must be coming good… but adding a fire dance to your ride is ‘out there’. Glad to hear the bike survived and your tap dancing did the job. Just think another skill developed today…

Hey Eagle…. sounds like you did a number on your ankle if its still sore. I suspect Theo will be hobbling for a while on his as he couldn’t put any weight on it by lunchtime. I’ll be going out next Sunday and the next one and the next one etc. With Theo down I may need to find another recruit otherwise out on my pat malone. Meet Ian from ADV Rider who just joined OBT (minusone) and Chris so see if I can hook in with their rides. Hope to catch up with you again as soon as your ankle is back to normal.

    Hi minusone,

Welcome to OBT. The guys here are awesome, helpful and on top of that just good blokes. You will fit in well on any of their Adventure / Trail rides.

Thanks for sharing your words/photo’s. Loved watching you going around corners at speed and seeing that back wheel slip all over the place. Need to get some tips on how to do that… Looking forward to sharing another ride with you soon.

Hope you Guys ended up OK, we passed you again later int he afternoon and you were certainly trying the newbies out, interesting terrain for the larger bikes!, bet you had a ball showing them up though B)
    Iva

    Sorry Iva… spelling mistake!!

Thought it was you guys that we passed again. Definitely tested myself, my bike and the poor guys who had to follow. Not sure if I showed them up but feeling more comfortable on the bike. Long way to go before I can feel comfortable going on an organised Adventure Ride, keep up and deal with any terrain. I hope your ride ended ok and you didn’t get caught in the storm.

    :P

Hey Eagle…. sorry to hear about the ankle. Its always about the “nice & slow” falls that do the most damage. Work on the foot massage from the ‘better half’ and I’m sure it will come good soon enough :P If no luck in that department…… ice is always the next best ‘sure thing’….

    Woo woo hold everything

this wasn’t mentioned before in the pre ride gathering  :P

In the interests of safety Kat your ride report will require photos 😆

    TB

So is the ‘stop everything’ due to another Tenere Rider or the young filly with long legs…. let me think about if for a nano second…. By the way … she is Italian and single….. ..Now I know what it takes to get a stop sign like that…… :woohoo:

Will ensure ride report and ‘clean’ photo’s are provided.

Hey Eagle…. may run into you. I’m meeting up at 8am at Berowra with Theo (Tenere rider) and my stepson’s ex girlfriend (21 yrs old 6ft something with long legs!!) on her TTR250. We will be doing Ourimbah State Forest, Yarramalong, Basin, Murray’s Run then heading to Wollembi Pub for lunch then stagger back. If we don’t see you have a safe day…
