Hope you all have a great weekend. Be safe and I’m looking forward to watching SPOT to see your progress. If it gets to hot there is always the pub to cool down!!

More than happy to swing thru.
I have lots a of bundy tickets that I’m more than happy to spend on you…. this time I want to use your tools whilst you watch/direct and drink… otherwise I never get dirty and learn.
Thanks TB.
Kat
Hi TB,
It unlikely that I’m going to have my XR400 back in time for this ride.
The suspension is done but we are waiting on some mounting bits for the 22l fuel tank. Even if I did get the bike back early this week I still need to work with Steve at AdventureMoto to sort out my panniers. So unfortunately I’m going to pull out of this one.
Will target this next one on the calendar. :side:

Gee thanks Kat I must have missed my invite
I reckon it would be a great idea, I do think that time on the bike is the best thing you can do to improve your riding. Sometimes I would just like to find a loop and practice and try different things.Chris.[/quote]
Sorry Chris….. It was a grade 3 ride for grade 2 riders. Peter (CathiM BF) and Chris (Leisa BF) were busy picking up bikes and enjoying the view as us ladies swimming in the creek both days after hard sweaty riding….. maybe we can get more riders coming along to our type of riding!!! lol. I have asked Riggs to do a ride report with photo’s of our swimming achievements.
Hi Scott,
My recommendation is………..DO IT. You will learn so much.
I’m currently down at Bateman’s Bay with bunch of girls riding this weekend. We have all done the course and today we kicked the guys arse with our riding skills… only thanks to Heffo.

Lets talk closer to time to see if it works…. Are you able to ride a grade 2?. May need to put you behind me and you can enjoy the view of the bush!! ha ha. Even better bring the adv bike and put Salina on the back.
Kat
Riggs and CathiM,
You know I only have to think about it for a nanosecond whether I would come down for a social with you guys. I would love to chill out with like minded OBT’ers. Just got to open my garage and ask myself what bike to come down on… ha ha.. How lucky am I.
Kat
Cathi,
I’m in… we may even teach Hatto and few things or two on how to trailride using his feminine side.:woohoo: I’ll have to work out the logistics of getting my bike down there. May have to hire a trailer again.
TB – if you are coming down I’ll make sure there is a bundy and coke cold in the eskie for you…. plus you would love the social side.

P.S. Hey Katgirl, what sort of Cat did you skipper?Murph,
It was on a Tornado Catamaran. Frig that thing flys in next to no breeze and lots of fun with the asymmetrical spinnaker. My hands were glued to the tiller. The wind started at 1 knot in every direction but by the end of the race we had 15knots from the north east – perfect. Two out on wire and yahooing. Oh that rum/coke tasted like gold after it and I so didn’t feel guilty with all the calories.
Just got home from Kurnell. Every man and his dog was out there. Didn’t end up kiteboarding as a southerly front come through about 9 hrs earlier than expected and a nice fog with it.
But the gods were looking after me and the local catamaran club were holding the world’s longest running regatta which was started by Captain Cook. I’m not tugging your chains… I’m only reciting what the official starter stated at the race briefing. This poor guy had his girlfriend bail out of sailing as she was worried about a 30 knot north easter coming thru. He was down a crew member so I got to step in but once we discussed my limitations (my knee) it was decided I would helm the boat… yee ha.. after 4hrs of racing from Kurnell, La Perouse, Brighton, Dolls Point under some bridge then back to Kurnell. We had a blast (still doesn’t bet bush bashing on the bike). Even better there was a good old Aussie BBQ that followed. Went to my sister’s place for a soak in the spa then did the drive home.
What a day… my smile is the right way up
Australlia Day started really early this morning with the wake up call of the mozzie’s (2am). Couldn’t sleep so surfed the net. Just got back from doggie beach with Ellie. We caused a ruckas… Ellie with her muzzle playing with dogs and me in my bikini trying to keep it on whilst chasing the dogs in the water.
Heading to Kurnell with my kiteboarding stuff and eskie with rum/coke & nibbles inside.
Hopefully coming home exhausted with smile pointing the right way. :cheer:
Happy Australia Day …….

Quote:Hi all,Have been lurking here for a while, and thought I’d better introduce myself.
About me? If you don;t already know from other forums, I hail from Canowindra, a small farming town in country NSW, and so generally spend my time with; a) myself, b ) dogs, c) sheep, d) rabbits, e) foxes or f) locusts. I currently ride a moderately farkled Honda Varadero, but previous rides include XTZ660 Tenere, YZF600 and XLV750. At the moment. I’m looking for a second bike, smaller than the Varadero that I can use for yet-to-be-planned Cape York and/or Canning/Simpson trip (along the lines of DR650 or KTM 640Adv for example).
Other than that, I like walks by the beach, candlelit dinners, open fires and poking dead things with a stick…
See you on the track!
Cheers
Welcome Holmesie,
That’s the first introduction I’ve read in a year that sounded like a farmer looking for a ‘riding buddy’…. :cheer: if you know what I mean. Funny. But hate to disappoint you the boy’s on OBT are not into walking on the beach (too much effort) :S , candlelit dinners (can’t see their beer’s) but can do open fires with booze
and poking dead things providing they rode over them :woohoo: .
Welcome to the mad house and hope to ride with you one day….

Hi Mallee,
Another rider to get dirty with. CathiM and Riggs are organising a ride on the weekend of 12/13 Feb in Nowra which will be more directed to Grade 2/ 2.5 riders. There will be guys and girls coming along. We tend to do more laughing than crying. Less testosterone and more oestrogen. Come along if you like some fun. PM if you want more details.
Hi huddo59blue,
So looks like you’ve drop the title “Jetstar John” and its now “Huddo”. I like it. Great to see you join the site and I’m sure the Victoria OBT’ers will treat you ‘gently’. I’ve shared with many OBT’ers that you gave me the courage to get through the Simpson Desert and without your friendship, banter and that lovely wife of yours you made the trip more enjoyable than I thought possible.
I look forward to seeing the KLR fixed…..( if you have any questions I’m sure the guys will give plenty of advice) and we are out hitting the dirt – Snowy mountains here we come.
Check out “Event Ride Dates” “Big Ride Dates 2011” and start bidding for flights that don’t clash with the rides….
Jeffro – you are quick off the mark in putting Huddo and Jetstar together as one in the same.
