Hi KTM05,
I can also speak highly for KTM Trail Tours. I’ve done couple of rides with them now and they were fantastic. I took my bike down but I did get to see their hire bikes and they are well maintained and no more than 1yr old.
Ha Ha guys, could do with a truck load full of cement at the moment….I suppose the added benefit would be to weigh me down on the bike so my feet can touch the ground…

Hi Nickj
I’ve been reading your post with interest over the last couple of days and it dawned on me that the journey to buying an Adventure bike is not just a thrill for you as an owner its also other OBT’ers that enjoy your journey and provide you all the support you need as well.
I’ve been active on other forums but OBT is different and the care factor is priceless. Good luck in getting the bike setup and I hope that someday I’m able to share a ride with another Adventure rider that’s seen the light.
Sorry I’m in touch with the girlie side of me (for once) or is the the rum/coke I just guzzled.. … no comments please Boony. :silly:
Kat :S
I had more laughs reading this report than watching Billy Connelly program “Journey to the Edge of the World”.
Very funny but at the end of the day fate plays a hand and its not what happens but how you get through it that makes for life experiences.
I’m jealous of your tyre changes skills…. lol.

Teza,
I wouldn’t worry to much. The boys will suck fuel out of their bikes if you shout a beer or rum/coke at the pub. Just take some hose.. its lighter and safer in your backpack. :woohoo: Its a win win for all.
OK… I’ve got a room at the pub and I’m coming up for the social activities as the riding looks a bit out of my league. Not sure whether the XR400 will have its first outing or bring the BMW650 either way I’ll be on a bike and looking forward to sharing a rum/coke or 10.
Sorry guys but that’s the best 8m 11s i’ve experienced since Friday :woohoo: . WOW. Even better I can replay it over and over. 👿
Don’t judge me!!
Kat
Welcome aboard Steve,
I’m looking forward to spending time doing retail therapy in Adventure Moto. My XR400m in going through an identity change and being setup as my Adventure bike so all your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Hope to meet you soon.
Kat
Thanks guys, I knew I could depend on good quality input as to how to tackle this purchase.
I’m now going into this with a better checklist of things to consider.
Hope I get to someday buy you a round of beers as a thank you.
:silly:
I’m in…. could do with a good social outing with OBTer’s…. could get a bit ugly but the seasoned OBTer’s would be use to it.
Hi TB,
I would like that alot.
I’m running solo now if you know what I mean. It happened last night so I’m looking forward to getting out as much as possible and riding my blues away.
That’s fantastic news regarding Adventure Moto. I actually meet Steve by chance up at Berowra truck stop (old toll gates) about 18months ago when I was first learning to ride a motorbike (Virago). I was practicing on my turns and going round and round in circles in preparation for my P’s test. Steve was most helpful with a few tips.
With the recent purchase of my ‘adventure bike’ – XR400 I have been spending lots of time researching what panniers work best for my bike. Adventure Moto site has provided great options and detail. I’m looking forward to meeting Steve again and seeking his guidance on what to do. After talking to Lotsa on Saturday I think I need to also look at a SPOT device.

Hi Lotsa and Tryhard,
It was great to see a familar ‘dirty OBT face’ up at Jerry’s. Enjoyed the chat and you gave me confidence that the Adventure ride I was doing on my own was ok. Had a ball – Letter A, Yaramalong (by mistake) back to Letter A then worked my way to Wyong then back up Ourmbah SF to Jerry’s for a refuel then down to St Albins to Wiseman’s Ferry for a schooner of Rum & Coke/chips. Then a tar ride home to Hornsby via Galston. Got home at 7pm stuffed. I so need to find someone to do Adventure rides that ride at my pace….
Hi Mike and welcome,
Oh you will fit in perfectly…TB will be frothing with your views on the Tenere and I’m always looking for help when it comes to mechanics…
Hope to see you on an ADV ride soon.

Are there tour companies that follow the rally on bikes?
It will cost a fair bit but I think life is too short to pass the opportunity by.Hi WikdBeemer,
Yes there is an Australian Company – Outback Adventure Treks who take riders over and follow the race. They organise everything.

This is the company Adrian and I did our ride across Australia in September.
