Sounds great…. see you at Macquarie Arms Hotel at 9 o’clock
I’ll go rain/hail or shine….
Just hope is not windy as my kiteboarding urges will be tempted.
The forecast is for no wind…. so trailbike riding it is.Hi Corey,
I’m with Eagle. Get advice from Surgeon and/or physio. Don’t do a TB and NOT do the exercises. Do them with the same passion as you have with riding.
It’s not all about getting muscle mass…. you have to teach the muscles how to activate again and more importantly you need to balance between stretching and strengthening. That’s why you need professional direction.
Good luck and be patient otherwise you will have a lifetime of problems…. trust me… I’m in that situation with my knee.

Wow Jeffro, nice bike…. are you having a mid-life crisis???
Can’t wait to see that out on the trails.
Enjoy the bike.
Kat..
PS.. Enjoyed the fast run down F3 with TB this afternoon. Wish I could ride that fast on the trails.
Thanks Bateman the pegs arrived yesterday.
Luckly I was sick in bed but was able to install them on the BMW 650. Today is another day in bed but hoping to get down in the garage and install them on the CRF. I’m sure either bike will get a run on the weekend so looking forward to trying them out.
Katgirl.
Just got an email from Bruce Hancock with a photo of the bike. Keep an eye out for it.

Hi Fireman
CathiM and I will be down there for the weekend. Keep an eye out for blonde 5f2in on a Honda CRF230L trying to ride like a demon and that will be me – number plate RSY30.

Quote:PS on the rum and coke thing. Alcohol will slow the healingOK OK OK I’m off my soap box…. Yes Alcohol does slow the healing. In fact on ABC Radio this morning at 6am they were talking about some recent studies on professional footy players who got on the piss after a game and how long it took them to recover. Those that didn’t touch the stuff recovered quicker. Surprise Surprise!!
Great to hear you’ve got the appointments all sorted.
mmmmm yes the bike needs some looking over before the big trip. I’m waiting on Sutto’s to order in the mounting kit for the damper. I was going to get them to install it including the new metal sprocket.
I just would feel more comfortable that I had you look at my bike before heading off. The only motorbike store I’ve dealt with is Procycles at Hornsby and they are not dirtbike focussed. Let see how the knees goes and will check in with you later. If all fails I can ask Sutto’s to look at it.

OK… I’m trying NOT to be a nagging women BUT..
Eagle is right…. just to get a referral then a booking for an MRI will take time…. get on your bike (pun… sorry) and get it organised.
Number 2 – from the pretty photo of the splint and ICE. You need to support the WHOLE leg and it needs to be 45 degrees UP. Putting your heal on a table will put pressure on your PCL – hyperextends your ligaments….
The ice needs to go around the whole knee… IE around the back as well. Ask the misses to buy the party packs of ice. I found that better plus you have plenty of ice for Rum & Cokes.
Once you are a bit mobile do you need a little project that will keep you busy in the garage????
😆 😆 😆Kat
TB,
So sorry to hear about the accident. My knee was twitching when I saw the photo’s.
Keep the ice up to it as much as possible (20min on, 20mins off). You want to get the swelling down as quickly as possible. Try and stay off it. It needs to be resting on a pillow higher than your hips. Don’t wait 5 days to see the GP. Go a get a referral for MRI. The MRI will pick up the damage regardless of the swelling.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and will miss seeing you down at Apex.
Take care,
Katgirl
It’s refreshing to read blokes actually talking and in many cases doing something about this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE action this if its remotely in your family. Even as a minimum get a blood test.
My dad suffered this horrible cancer few years ago but got onto it straight away. He was one of the lucky ones. Many of his mates weren’t so lucky and they aren’t around to see their families grow old.
Any ride put on to raise money for Prostate Cancer …. I’ll be there… might even drag my dad along to support the ride…. he doesn’t like me riding trailbike but maybe if he comes along he can understand why I love it….. kill two birds with one stone.
Katgirl
Thanks CathiM for sharing this.
I came across their website sometime ago and knew they were having some challenges with council.
Will forward my letter of support.
Kat
I’ve waved my plastic at Scott/Battyes and I didn’t feel a thing…. yet… :silly:
Can’t wait to get them. Hope to have it for Bateman’s Bay Apex. Yee Ha. :woohoo:
