STM,
I’ll bite the bullet and get another set for my BMW 650 GS. Hopefully this will stop the nightmares.

If I was taking my XRBull(bf)with me to keep me warm then I’d camp. Not up to squeezing an OBT that burps Bundy’s 😆
I’m so need to toughen up for this trip.
Hi TB,
We are thinking about hiring out a house for the weekend. CathiM’s partner may be coming down with kids so we were all bunking down together. If that doesn’t happen then we were going to get some accommodation in Bateman’s Bay. All bit up in the air at moment but I know one thing…. I’m NOT camping.
I was down there two weeks ago at it was friggen cold. The ice indiciator on the car went off when it hit 2 degrees. I’m not set up for camping in such cold conditions. Plus the hot shower on my old bones are required. :S

Hi Hatto,
CathiM and I are booked in to do Saturday (coaching clinic) with KTM Tours then Sunday Apex.
Will have my new Old Bull tee-shirt on. Will keep an eye out for you.
Went out to Pork Chop hill the other weekend….. It was good for a look only. Just running down the powerlines to get to Pork Chop was enough fun.
I believe we have a good size girlie group attending and DirtbikeWorld are doing an article/photo’s. Will push the OBT name.

Welcome Cathi,
Yee Ha….great to see you on the forum.
Trust me the guys are fantastic here. Lots of advice, encouragement and more importantly just down right top blokes.
I’m looking forward to sharing a few OBT rides with you.
We will need to work on a good photo for your Avatar.

PS… Get Peter to sign up as well..
Happy Birthday TB….enjoy a stiff rum&coke for me.
Enjoy the day and looking forward to toasting you on the weekend.

my BIG Bruise:
Pork Chop Hill
3 months & 3 days to go… omg :woohoo:
The trip preparations are going well. :silly:
Had a great night at Suto’s learning to do tyre changing. It was a good opportunity to put my new ultra heavy duty tubes and new Dunlop 606 tyres on my bike.
Came home after the night and had Adrian help me put the tyres back on the bike but were presented with some interesting complications.
1. The back tyre wouldn’t fit. After repositioning it the chain was too tight. The new spare chain I bought for the trip came out of the package and installed.
2. The back tyre kept scraping the front protector flap thingy. So after some mods the tyre seemed to spin without make shit load of noise.
3. The back brake went really spongy after putting the tyre on. Took it to procycles to replace the brake fluid… didn’t know how to do that and hoping that has fixed the problem.
Chris 72a sent me my new waist toolkit and I’ve started adding some bits to it.
My next big investment is working with Sutto’s to get a Scott Damper installed and also replace the alum sprocket with a metal one. Hoping this will occur soon so I can spend time on the bike working out how to use it.
This weekend I’m down at Bateman’s Bay and participating in a 2 day trailbike ride with KTM Tours. Thought this is the best way to get some time on the bike with some assistance. Arrived last night and meet 5 other guy’s who seem to be about the same level of experience as me. They have had some rain down here over the last week so I suspect its going to be a bit wet and dirty…. bring it on.
Anyway that’s it so far and will post my Bateman Bay experience up shortly.
Would love to have joined you but I’m currently down at Bateman’s Bay getting ready to do a 2 day ride with KTM Tours. Have a great ride and hope to catch you next time.
Katgirl.
Hi Choot,

WOW .. what a night
I should have left my credit card at home….
Got me some pressies..
1. Oil
2. Fuel Filter
3. Pants and top (I so needed to replace my KTM pants as I was embarrassed wearing them on my Honda) Thanks to Tiny in confirming my arse is still big in my new gear… least it matches my eyes… Blue
4. Ordered in a metal sprocket
5. Ordered in Scotts Damper
6. 2 x Folk savers… had to get my boyfriend a pressie.and a nice big discount from Sutto…. thanks muchly
On top of that some tyre levers. :woohoo:
Last night I learnt that you need to get your hands dirty to fully appreciate and understand how to change tyres. It’s all down to technique and fitness.
Chris was excellent in demonstrating how to do it without sweating. TB helped ‘verbally’ with a few choice questions. Come to think about it…. TB only got dirty when he was eating pizza.
As always it was fantastic meeting other OBTer’s and sharing a giggle or too….
KatGirl.
PS>… I’m one more step closer to being ready for our trip in 13 weeks.
Hey Hatto… another year younger…. enjoy the night.

After watching those clips…. I so don’t feel alone…..
Tried to find some balance this weekend. Spent yesterday with bf (boyfriend) and his girls (12/10yrs). Doing the slow introduction via some rock climbing at Castle Hill….
Today I did something really (stupid) different and followed my crazy fanatical 4wd brother and 3 4wd cars thru Watagan’s. Spent more time sitting on rocks watching them winch themselves out of mud holes…. whilst I skipped around them.
I think the whole day we covered … don’t laugh …30kms…. did some tricky up/down hills and water holes that I needed a snorkel.
Im happy to report that I didn’t let myself down in the ‘fall’ count. I went over the bars on a down hill. It took 15 mins of sitting on the ground before I could walk straight again. I think my helmet is shot.
One really bad water crossing helped fill up 1/2 of my air filter box.
Nothing like getting my tools out…. and scratching my head… in the sore area.
Thankfully I got it going again.
Bike is still on trailer outside… fully muddied up. My dirtbike cloths walked directly to the washing machine and hanging up next to heater.
Had 2 strong pain killers for headache, rum and coke and wondering if I can go out tomorrow…. thats if the bike will run.
Worse case I can do my ironing tomorrow and maybe cover of some work stuff that’s needed before Tue….. nah…. I think I’ve been a BAD girl and need to go out again.
Hi Eagle ’02,
How are you travelling after the op? … How long has it been??
This is the hard bit cause you don’t want to do anything that upsets the graft… take it easy and if you keep doing the right thing it will come good with time. This is the time to take up knitting….. joke!!.. but I did find other things that kept me busy. I did mine kitesurfing so I spent my days in a brace walking up and down the sand teaching people how to kitesurf… it was funny on sand with crutches but definately got to meet alot of guys… hahaha.
Good luck….
Keep up with the ice to help with the inflamation…. better than popping anti inflam pills.
