Welcome Amy….. looking forward to meeting you on a ride soon…. OLD Bulls Birthday ride will be perfect… last time i did it I was camping with 40 blokes and it was ‘interesting’……bring ear plug… and a shit load of rum/coke to drown out the dribble (‘interesting’ discussion around the camp fire). It becomes swa-hill-i but funnily enough you can make it out….. only just.
We are riding this Sunday up central coast…. if interested PM me….
Kat
What are you trying to say Kat?? You camped next to me at that ride…… Do I snore?? Or was it Ollie from 200 meters away?? :S :pinch:
Anyhow, welcome to OBT Flying Fish. Thanks for the intro and I hope you stay active on the site.
Cheers
MickMick… thankfully I drank enough rum to also contribute to the snore-fest. I still can’t get out of my head the look of Ollie the next morning after his early morning bush walk (toilet stop) and being covered in prickle bush thingy’s…… that was priceless.

That sounds like my life every night…. Got no kids, no other half to cook/clean or make happy…. I’m sitting on my new leather lounge watching my new huge smart TV … laptop on lap and surfing the net on anything to do with Adventure motorbike riding ……I’m LIVING MY DREAMS….
Got a long list of jobs to do on my bikes but that will wait for Saturday……
Happy Birthday Chris…… ONLY 40…… well I thought you were mmmmm – I’m not going to say…………………………………………………………………………….. only joking….

Hey Alyssa
A group of us are going out on Sunday from Cooranbong. Its mainly firetrail riding as its a ADV ride. I had a look on whereis…. it would take you 30min to get from Kurri to Cooranbong… not as bad as me…. takes me 1hr so you have no excuses. More details will be posted on:

Will have to hook up for a ride…. Depending on what’s happening I tend to do a bit of single track stuff on my Honda CRF230 otherwise I get the XR400 out for an adventure ride (more sedate riding (NOT)) with a bunch on nutter’s up Cooranbong way. Will PM you if I’m heading up your way for a ride.

Ouch Boony…. sorry to hear about the knee. Like Eag’s and other’s I’ve been thru this with complete disintegration of both my ACL & PCL…. I wear a brace when I kiteboard but been considering for a while the need to buy knee braces for riding. Your post has reminded me that this is important. I wish you all the best in your recovery. PLS MAKE SURE the doctor organsises you to see a orthopedic surgeon and have an MRI to clearly understand the damage done…..
Fingers crossed it’s a minor tear and no surgury required…
Good luck
Kat
Nice ride report Eags….and great to see that bike of your brown with mud…… the photo’s bring back lots of memories that makes me giggle….
Thanks for sharing and glad to hear you got home safely.
Kat

You missed an excellent ride on Sunday with Mark…. 8 of us in total…. ride report up on Off Road Explorer…… have to rub that in after you little escapade today…

Well got to learn on the weekend what a rear Cush Drive is plus the role the cush bearings and rubbers play. I was out on the XR400 with some ORE riders and felt some vibration in the rear. Upon investigations we found the cush drive bearing was tiny bit sloopy and the rubbers looked compressed. Got some tuition on what to look for and after some bush mechanics with some electrical tape we sorted it out so I could enjoy the rest of the day and more importantly get home.
So tonight I did some searching on YouTube to understand it more and funnily enough I found 3 video’s on Tenere cush drive rubber. I recognised the voice and the tongs and sure enough it was TB.
Thanks TB for explaining it all for me….. I now know how to determine if you have a cush drive rubber problem and how to fix it.
I’m off to locate a new set of rubbers and replace the cush bearing. The wheel bearings were replaced not so long ago…..
