They have just reduced them to $269 as well  ummm I am away from home at the moment, easier to ask forgiveness then permission eh
TB
What do you mean by the 3 year bracket TB? As in no use after 3 years?
Your fluoro one will keep you safe from hunters in State Forests!
Yeah the shells have life can’t remember if it’s 2 or 3 years but it’s three for me. I like the fluoro one but I havent bought a helmet for 6 months so I better get another
What’s wrong with having 9 helmets anyway, I gave three away
TB
If your giving them away I’ll have one. I’ll even wear it with my dress on just to be cooler than moto   :pinch:

What did you get GF?

The latest Etcha-sketch from K-tell. The salesman says it’s a beauty.

I’m keen as for this ride. I’ve just bought myself a GPS unit for Jeremiah and can’t wait to test it out.
I just hope it’s not on a weekend with kids stuff on. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

What a recovery
Fantastic to see him up and about and on a bike again. Physically and mentally he’s as tough as they come.

Congrats on the new steed STM.
Let me know one weekend when you plan to go out and I’ll join you.

Good luck and safe travels to you and all the crew DC.
It’s a huge ride you’ve got ahead of you and I can’t wait to see it and read about it in RR.
Go the mighty DR’s

July 17, 2012 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Tyre Pressure for DR650 Fully Loaded with Dunlop 606’s across Simpson Desert #226184DakarChick wrote:HelloCan anyone offer suggestions for tyre pressures to run on our DR650’s on the Simpson Desert.
We will be fully loaded.
The pressure for best traction without spinning the tyre on rim.
Cheers Brenda
PS 17 more sleeps … just a little excited
Good Question DC.
I’m no expert on ADV rides or the desert but I usually have about 28psi as a starting point in the front and rear on ADV rides. If your loaded and run around 20psi you’re asking for pinch flats.
Having said that, I know a couple of the guys had trouble with rear tyres in the sand on the Cameron’s ride. I don’t know what pressure they ran but from memory I think the tyres ran too hot and destroyed themselves.
Hopefully someone on that ride can help.
Good luck on the trip and keep us informed on your travels .

Well I’m glad Bigger Al liked my little 310 cos I love it.
When I gave it to him I told him the forks needed a little attention but as I was going to Cape York on my DR my money had to go in that direction.
I did have a bit of trouble with fork seals initially but last time they leaked Rory at Rocks put in the tripple lip ones he mentioned and I got well over a year out of them. That was riding trails, MotoX, sprints and PonyX so I was very happy with them.
True, it’s not the fasted bike on the market, but I’m not the fastest rider either. I reckon it’s a great all rounder and the harder you push it the more it seems to like it.
Mechanically, I’ve had very few problems at all. I did have a temp sensor pack it in a couple of times but that was fixed under warrenty. Yes they do come with a real warrenty. And compared to Orange bikes of the same year???? Well a I Know of at least three that are on there 2nd or 3rd rebuild for the sameish amount of hours.
Orange = too higher state of tune for the average joe. IMO
Husky = not the fastest bike(but close) in the market place but reliable and value for money.
Can I have it back now Al………. please

I seem to be struggling to get back to reality. I can’t believe how much we packed into the last few weeks and how great the trip was.
Bugger it ! I’ll give Jeremiah some fresh oil and I’ll be ready by Lunch time
