Installed the Ralle-Moto RM2 Under Bar Damper on the Banana.. It was a slightly frustrating exercise as I managed to snap a bolt off in the front right hand side oem bar mount.. When the top triple clamp is off and you flip it upside down the hole goes all the way through, however the threading only pops out a bit and then stops.. There is still more space for threading but as I said it stops.. The right side for some reason had less threading through then the left  and the bolt was slightly too long.. When it felt tight I thought it was all the way down however there was still play within the riser mount.. Once I realised what had happened the bolt was pretty stuck and my attempts to undo it ended in the bolt snapping…  Ugh………….
I managed to source a top triple clamp from a mob in Silverwater and had it delivered this Avo…
A slightly expensive mistake… A very good bloke is asking another very good bloke to attempt to get the snapped bolt out of the original..
If successful I can then try and sell it on bay to recoup some money back…
Here is the results….
The Ralle-Moto DRZ400E Under bar kit..
Cockpit stripped and ready to install..
Damper Ring and Stem all mounted..
Top Triple Clamp re-installed with Damper Mount plate installed..

Absolute Gold weekend guys… The Video is just awesome.. sums up the weekend quite well I reckon…. Great photos as well…
Come on DJ get that adventure bike we got lots more weekends to do now that your probably womanless..
What a weekend… Met up with TB Saturday morning to pick up my new bling wheels.. He said he was going to do a ride out to an ADV rally and suggested I come along.. The plan was to prepare to camp and we will see how we go.. While I was leaving TB’s to head back home and prep the bike and gear up DJ-Hardcore shows up to get a lesson in tire changing from TB.. I said hello and goodbye.. During the lesson TB must have talked DJ-Hardcore into tagging along.. It was quite a site to see old DJ-Hardcore show up on his new KTM 400 with a sleeping bag and nothing else strapped to the back fender..
Off we went bitumen to Mittagong and after a quick fuel and bite to eat we headed towards Wombeyan Caves.. Hit the dirt and a nice clean run to a property where the rally was being held.. It was $20 dollars if we wanted to mingle and stay.. After some humming and hawing it was decided to stay as it was getting near dark and the road in was filled with lots of riders coming in so going out could have been dangerous, plus the property bloke insisted no-one go back out so road was closed in the out direction..
We decided on a little flat spot along the ridge line looking down on the rally… We claimed it as Old Bulls Camp… It turns out this was a good choice as a roll start downhill was required in the am for the Tenere.. After a quick camp setup some mingling in the crowd was done.. DJ-Hardcore and TB was unhappy that there were no cans to be had.. It was going to be a sober night.. I made a fire and we all ate and joked and laughed about various things… I enjoyed the night and it was great company… I’ll let DJ-Hardcore describe his camp setup… hahahaha…
Up early and we were gone by 6:45am.. We blasted back the same way we came.. It was a nice cruisy run and all was well until I washed out the front wheel in a rut.. I had the gas on so the bike just slid around doing a 180.. No damage to me other than embarrassment.. One of the straps on the andy bags was ripped right off though and 2 new holes on the 2 underside corners..
Oh well live and learn..
The ride got interesting once we hit the bitumen again as DJ-HArdcore ran out of fuel and I had to refuel him from the super tanker… After another 30k’s we had to do a repeat as his Euro machine sucks petrol like mad… Once we got to a petrol station all was well and a nice ride home was had…
It was an interesting ride for me as it was the first with the new setup of racks and Andy bags.. It is so different from the old setup which had all the weight on the top rear.. The bike was much steadier and much more balanced.. The only thing I have to remember is when riding with this setup I have to ride it like an adventure bike and not a trail bike as I had a few oh F&%^k moments.. Any sliding from the rear and the weight makes her want to keep on going..
I clocked up 436k… TB got some good video and photos so plenty of laughs to come…
Cheers…
LOL.. Yes that would have been me returning from the OWL’s nest… Was flying home as I needed to clean and convert the bike over..

Trailboss wrote:Krusty wrote:Cheap…The Black rims came from Torpedo 7… $59 each… TB wanted someone to buy and test the quality so I’m it..
..
Cheap   You have got labour bill yet
I didn’t want someone to try them I wouldn’t use them our discussion was you asked me what I thought of them, I said I have my doubts as I tried cheaper rims before and ended up with stops signs  I asked how good could they be for 59 bucks. In the end I think it was we wouldn’t know until we knew someone that tried them that’s now you
If it doesn’t work you are only 120 in the hole and that’s nothing is it, can always fit other rims at worst
It’s maybe like the socket sets they sell, it’s only quality but time will tell just try them
TBThe $59 was a special they were running as normally they sell for $99… I know you still wouldn’t use em but as you said $120 for a test run isn’t too bad… If they suck and dent easily Ill bring back some Excel or DID or maybe even Warp9(which are very popular over in Cali) from the USA while I’m over there at Christmas…

TBWhat brand are they? can’t wait to see a report on them after a few big rides and punishment put to them
See above..
I hope to punish them the weekend after next at Clarence…
