Happy Birthday Mick… Hope you have a good one…
Happy Birthday Jeffro… Hope you have a good one…
Sorry I didn’t record it..
I have a tear in my eye Polly. Welcome to club Kato.
Lord Kato will be happy with your wise decision.
Congrats. I’ll now have to commit to a weekend in March to ride with you and the nundle crew.
Happy Birthday Kat….
Hoot hoot. Sure
Technology has been around for years…. Someone just idiot proofed it…
It was born from the events in the US where the coppers didn’t like being recorded beating the shit out people for no reason or getting caught instigating because of a power trip or whatever…. Apps came about for early iPhone and Android phones that sent the recording stream to a website.. The copper took the phone and deleted what they thought were videos but actually local cache files… Videos were then retrieved from the website to tell the real story.. Lots of high profile protests were local coppers were planted in the protest groups to instigate people to get violent… Technology proved the copper plants really started it… Happened in Seattle and I think Vancouver Canada…
Just wait to whats coming…. I been in the technology game since 1990… consumers like us are about 12-15 years behind the Military and 7 or so behind the R&D the Uni’s work on..
I find the R&D term funny as Research and Development really means finding it again and developing it again… If they were looking for something new it would be called search and develop…
When I was in the Military in the 80’s we were using infrared and night vision technology that came available to the public in the mid to late 90’s.. It was funny seeing someting on the shelves I used 10 or so years earlier…
Need good battery life to stream a full OBT ride… Having multiple people in the ready and move from one person to another would work too… Oh the ideas are endless…
Rub it boys.
Wish I was closer to you guys. 17 riders? Geez I can barely get 1 to come out and play.
Must be the organiser.
MARTY 450 wrote:GDay boys, just putting it out there for anyone who could lead a ride in the Milton/Wandandian area in mid to late Feb.
Been down there a few times over the years but not confident to loop together. Thanks Marty
Let me check out me schedule Marty.. I have access to a cabin at Sussex Inlet and know of some of the singles around Wandandian. It wouldn’t be more than a grade 3 with a bit of grade 4 hills… Not sure of what the go is since the fires went through earlier this month.. I’ve heard the area is a bit of a barren land now… Hatto is local and an Old Bull maybe he’ll pop in for a word…
Leave it with me…
No photos and very little video.. No one was game to test the waterproof ability of the Liquid image EGO’s..
The boys met up at my place around 7am.. Intros and some small talk then loaded my bike into Phil’s company Merc van. I was planning on taking us through Richmond and Bells Line of Road but gas bagging to Phil on the M7 had me miss the Richmond rd exit :woohoo: so plan B was kicked in and we went through the Blue Mountains…
Rain Rain and more Rain all the way up but I had faith that the weather man prediction of the Rain easing off around 9am would come through… Sure enough as we parked the Vehicles to unload and kit up the rain slowed and then stopped..
Conditions were near perfect.. Most of the tracks we rode I have only ridden in the extreme dry of late and the bull dust made things slippery at times.. With the wet and soaked ground it was like riding new tracks and the grip was killer… The only negative was the various rock steps we came across throughout the day which became slippery in the event of not following through on the the commitment.. I had problems with some of the steps that I never have had in the past.. I blame it on the rain..
I tried to follow a new section at the start that another member had showed me on the 23rd Dec ride.. I did pretty good until near the end and we got off track a bit killing some time to try and get back on track… One of the water crossings was a little more flowing than the last time I crossed… I decided to be the guinea pig and picked a line.. It started nice and shallow then all of sudden a fast drop to near the bottom of the seat.. A bit of a panic and quick maneuver and I made it out.. Turns out about 50 meters away was another path with a nice metal bridge… The boys decided to not follow me…
I tried to take the boys to see the lost city but took a wrong turn somewhere and never made it.. With the interest of time we back tracked and followed the power lines all the way to the next single section which I learned on the Gaily Ride.. This little section is nice and quick flowing at the start and ends with a goat track that hugs the rock face which then ends with a tricky little up hill coming out of a hard right hander… It was very slippery and we all made a meal of it..
Onto the caves area near the end of Black Fellow Hands.. Normally the uphill that starts this track is easy but we all made a meal of it except for Adam who did a smooth wheel stand most of the way up and then plowed over a little rock step.. A Job well done.. I think the track is Mary’s track and leads to the open track taking you to the Lookout we viewed on Gaily’s ride.. From there we back tracked to continue on and ducked back into the single(Mary’s) which ends at BFH.. Along the way you come to a rock face you have ride over and just on the other side was a bucket thingy with a message about a Toll payment for up keep of the track and beers for those doing the up keep… There were no coins inside so Adam being the good bloke he is pulled out some coin and deposited the toll… We were planning to jump back into the singles once reaching BFH which take you just about to the Pines Camp area but we decided we punished Phil enough and rode the FT back to the cars…
What was looking like a gloomy very wet rainy day turned into near perfect conditions and fun had by all… Everyone rode well and a top job to Phil after not riding since the October long weekend.. We’ll do it again in Feb… Welcome to Aussie bush riding Phil!!!
Must be a good country if they allow Sepos in..
Sunday ride Monday recover….

See you there
Adam.
Hot Digity Dog!!! Thats awesome Adam…. Will Sam be joining as well? If you want rock up to my place around 6:45am as Phil will be popping around to load my bike in his Van.. Then we could all go together… At that time in the am you’ll be around 50 minutes to my place.. You’ll pretty much drive by me on your way… PM me if you want and I’ll guide you in…
Clarence is about 1.5 from me..
Might tweek the route a bit now.. To make sure your drive is worth it….
yes I’m aware of the good stuff as I have ridden it.. However there is a constant presence of the Men in Blue now and large signs and gates going up at the single tracks entrances. Making riding the fire trails boring if your not keen to risk getting stopped.
Belangelo is boring… come with us sunday mate at clarence…
