Bike looks the business Krusty, when I used my Drz for the Cameron ride I found that the soft panniers scratched the crap out of my side plastics , and with your new stickers you don’t want that!!

I’m using the same panniers on my Tenere for this ride and my missus came up with a top idea of cutting up a lambs wool car seat cover and stitching it to the back of the pannier.

Top tip from mrs. J !!

Mine are rubber backed.. On camerons they didn’t scratch but left a black mark which came off.. I been thinking about draping something over the path the bags follow.. Sheep skin sounds good.. :)

Matee,,,those after market mirrors look smick,,Bar that it still looks the same as it did at the coffs ride….

Your joking right? Different front fender than coffs, different seat than coffs and of course the sticker kit and the oversize brake disk and the chain gang rear sprocket..

The mirror is an XR400 mirror bent to be more parallel with the bars.. 8 dollars at MCA in Auburn.. :P

A bit late in my RR but been snowed under at work..

OWL01 and I arrived at the Hampton Pub around 7:30am.. Lots already there and getting ready.. Said some hello’s and meet and greeted old as well as some new old bulls..

I volunteered to run Sweep with Rocket as I felt it was time to give back and help out as much as I can the same way I have been helped many many times..

Off we went down the bitumen a bit and into the bush.. There was no warm up and we got stuck right into it and climbed a good size hill.. I think it was called Power line hill.. You would have seen photos and video of me having some slight difficulties with balance and the like..

Some nice flowing tracks with a good pace then into a snotty grassy hill that seemed to cause all sorts of carnage even for the more experienced guys.. One advantage as sweep was I got watch all the carnage as well as see which way I shouldn’t go..  However that didn’t really help much as you have seen from the video with me bike being dragged out of a bush..

More flowing stuff with some tight singles thrown in.. A couple fellas ran into some strife and rocket and I stayed with em until things were back in order.. One bloke had an off and needed to do some quick repair on a barky and another fella had a rear flat.. After some fairly quick road side repairs we were off again..

There was a fella I believe a mate of Steve’s from adventure moto who had a few difficulties that we helped out along the way.. Somewhere along the trail the banjo bolt came loose from his front master cylinder and he lost his front brake.. Rocket and I tried to re-bleed it but it wouldn’t take so Rocket raced on to try and catch the group to let everyone know what was happening.. TB returned and we decided I would guide him out back to the pub since I had a GPS with me.. TB continued on with the group and myself and 2 of Steve from Adv. Moto mates followed me out.. It took a bit to find our way out but we made it none the less.. TB said to try and head N.E. Apparently this was a best guess but turned out to be spot on.. The human GPS worked again!!

We arrived back to the pub and waited for the group to return.. After an hour we decided to get a ahead start on lunch and had a feed.. Soon after the group returned and the Pub did an excellent job sorting all those hungry blokes..

Lunch finished and we were off again.. We went along the same path as the am for a bit then into some different stuff.. I didn’t ride sweep this time and was having a ball.. There were plenty of things thrown in that tested me and forced me out of my comfort zone.. Some really steep and shaley hill climbs and descents.. All was going well until Mount impossible and the off Teza had.. You all know the stories there so I won’t bore you.. ;)

All in all it was a great day as usual with an Old Bull ride.. I was pretty beat and sore as was OWL01 but we had a great time and I hope to go back there soon as there was lots out there to explore..

Thanks again to all the Old Bulls who made the day what it was and the help and advice provided along the way..

I didn’t take a large amount of photos but here are some I did get..

Thanks TB.. I was interested in this one because of the wrap around feature.. The Safari tanks are slightly different from the Acerbis, IMS etc so was hoping someone knew someone who used it on a Safari Tank.. :)

I would like to go with a small tank bag of sorts for the ADV rides but concerned it would interfere with standing as you experienced on and off on the Cameron ride..

What do you guys reckon about the Enduro series tank bag.. It looks small and tidy and the Wolfman videos use a DRZ for the sample however an acerbis tank.. ;)
