I did say combined thinking just not who the combined thinking was.. ;) I already knew what I wanted as I had many conversation with someone in the US which is what the seat I now have is modeled on.. :P

I have been thinking of something similar myself. I have a mate who does fibrglassing and was thinking of getting him to make a seat pan that is a bit wider than normal and that I use to help grip the bike with my knees and at the same time more comfortable. Although the DRZ seat is pretty comfortable compared with some KTM and BMW seats I have sat on.

Too hard Jeffro.. All you need is a standard DRZ seat base the foam is designed to be wider and taller and attached to the standard base just fine.. Have a look at mine on Saturday..

Heaps of information… You could spend a month reading..

Get a bolt on.. Athena is the way to go from what I have read… 416 CC to 470 CC direct bolt on, done in a day no machining.. You will need to re-jet, cams etc.. Heaps forsale on ebay from USA..

    What’s the seat krusty ??

I know it’s the bit you sit on :)

When I bought the bike I got a spare seat so OWL02 went to chat with an upholsterer for me armed with some combined thinking, photos of an approximate result and a little imagination on the upholsterers part.. $132 dollars later we have what I’m hoping will be a magic seat.. B) :P B) As soon as OWL02 finds himself a beat up used seat I reckon he will transform his too.. :woohoo:

I will take photos when it is in my hands tomorrow and give a full report after the long ride this weekend.. A 460+ Kilometer test..

Chris, its going to be crowded at the back

Some distances that I know (from google)

Lake Munmorah – Braithwaite park Wyong 25km
Braithwaite park to Ourimbah SF, Yarramalong, Cedar Brush Creek, Murrays Run then Laguna 63km
Laguna to Howes Valley via Yengo and Howes valley trail 48km
Howes Valley to Putty Valley Rd. 25km

Don’t know the distance from Putty Valley Rd to Denman???
Hey Kat, what sort of distance do you get from your standard tank? Carry an empty coke bottle and we would be able to transfer fuel. If Krusty says its 125km from Putty Valley rd to Denman and its 73km from laguna to PVR then 200km would be the range (provided Laguna store is open for fuel). Shit its going to be another BIG day, better get my Airhawk seat organized

    Mick

Hi Mick…. Crowded eh? It will be hard to take it easy but I would rather go easy then miss out on the corner.. ;)

I have a really good idea from TB on the route from Wyong to the putty rd so I’ll map it just to get the kilometers.. At-least we will know a good estimate of the K’s before hand…

There also seems to be some concern about accessing the commission rd via Applet Tree Flat.. I suggested we return that way for something different… We could always go left at raspberry junction on the return which will take us to the commission rd as well…

    Cheers…

    I’m in…………

I will most likely trailer to Lotsa’s place and go to and from with the pack.. I’ll ride sweep as I plan on taking it easy so I don’t mess the knee up again..

I will have KMZ and GPX files from the putty meet point to Denman and also an alternate route back via commission rd ready this evening.. They should be coming your way via email tonight Lotsa..

Anyone else who wants them send me your email address via PM… :P

I know that from the where you pop out at putty rd from the yengo to denman via putty it will be 125 K’s.. Not sure what the K’s are from Wyong to that point as I do not know the exact route.

    Cheers…
    Chris………..
