So once again the weatherman cannot get it right and was completely wrong about the days weather.. :huh:
It was a cracker of a day and what a hoot!!! (o.o)
I was on the road around 6 am and caught up with the OWLs at the Caltex near Marsden Park.. Heading up through Richmond and onto Bells Line of Road coming into Kurrajong Heights TB calls to get a location.. About 10 minutes later a motor bike rider is on my ass.. They go around me and speed off.. After a few kilometers all of sudden they are behind me again.. Hmmmm… I thought well either this bloke is stalking me or its TB.. Again he blasts around me and the OWLs and zooms ahead.. Sure enough 10 minutes later same biker is on my ass again.. This time they pull up along side and give me a goofy look.. Yup its TB on the Yamaha……
We get to the Bell start point, unload, shoot the fat and off we go.. We pretty much stayed on the B-Route from the Sofala Birthday ride weaving in and out of some of the A-Route heading towards Capertee.. Ground was wet and muddy and some of the puddles were fairly deep.. Woop Woop!! :woohoo: A few stops along the way and on into Capertee to fuel up then across the road to the pub for lunch and drinks.. We killed about 2 hours drinking, eating and trying to explain the whole OWL thing to TB but he seemed not to get the humor of it.. More like not very interested I suppose……… :silly: :huh:
Then back on the bikes and a different route to Lidsdale in order to pickup the Black-fellow Hands trail.. Apparently we went along some of the A-route birthday ride and visited Krams crash site.. Ouch pretty narly ruts dude.. :ohmy: We made it back to the Black-fellow Hands trail to return back to Zig-Zag/Bell.. TB grabbed his hidden bags in the bush and went back out to the road to head home or so he said..
The OWL’s flew back to the nest and loaded up…….. The boys enjoyed it very much and we are discussing the next run.. I think next time we will go all the way to Kandos and go to church(Kandos Hotel) for beers and lunch…
The new whiz bang XR400 performed really well and I was pretty happy.. Standing felt pretty much the same although hugging the tank with the legs was more comfortable.. Sitting was very different and it was nice to get so forward in some of the tight turns.. Carby needs a bit of work as she consistently machine gunned back-fired on deceleration..
Great day, Great company, Great tracks, Great weather.. What more can you ask for………
We drove 177K’s round trip to ride 165 K’s round trip..

Looks like I will be dragging 2 mates along as well.. I reckon besides the great service and teaching that everyone will get out of this. It shall be a great social event as well to meet and greet..
yeah so is OWL01.. The boys have been pestering me for a few weeks now…
