Well done again mate.
Galey
Sorry about the scare… End result of trying to walk a bike backwards down an off camber hill… :woohoo: and having no energy to lift it up…
Great still shots.. Can’t wait to see yours and Bobs Video…
Thanks to Galey for allowing me to tag along and have a go… Thanks to Bob for running a slow sweep at times…
When I posted I was free for a few days due to a job change Galey mentioned one of his Mad Monday rides was on.. Details were exchanged and I was going to get to ride Sunny Corner proper.. Well proper to me as it was the first full day run around said forest.. I arrived heaps early and slowly began to get kitted up and what not. Galey soon followed and a few minutes later Bob.. The usual Old Bulls welcome and we headed off… Galey mentioned that the latter part of the day was going to be the toughest and he wasn’t joking… I quickly learned to follow his advice through out the day…
The first half of the day was awesome fast flowing singles with various obstacles and ruts… Galey threw in a nice challenging hill climb that I struggled a bit on but got to the top on my own in the end… We arrived to an awesome lookout Bathurst direction and had a short break… This was about 3 hours into the ride and the only real break we had was during the tire changing.. Fitness Fitness Fitness… None of which I have… :silly: :silly: I’m used to more breaks in that period of time…
As we moved on the singles were getting more and more challenging… Lots of rocks and more up and down with twisting and turning… I had 2 or 3 offs on sections where you had turn up hill while tackling near boulder size rocks… Straight lines were fine it was the sharp turning through obstacles that did me in… Fatigue was hitting me quickly from here on… We then came to a very steep rock and rut down hill… Bob just went on down and made it look easy… I spent to much time starring at it and started to panic going down and pulled too much front.. Man down… I tried again and again and eventually opted walking it part way down then rode the last short bit…
Being the good bloke Galey is
he opted for us to continue an easier route to the creek water fall he wanted to try out… Apparently this was going to be the second time through it just the first time on a bike…  I took the advice and watched from the hill side as the firetrail used to enter the creek basically follows the creek so I got to watch Galey and Bob perform some madness  I got some good footage but not all of it as there are parts where I’m too far away…
We continued on and did the creek track that ends with this steep jump up the bank… I actually did it first go woohoo… Onto more tough singles this time with root steps and ruts on the inclines… I definitely was fully fatigued and wanted to bail many times but I needed to finish… There was one last difficult loop section Galey wanted to do near the end and suggested I sit it out as they would basically loop around back to where we stopped… I gladly took the break… We began to head back to the cars and I even got a rear flat 👿 right after coming out of the bush onto the tar a few k’s from the cars… Hmm… I wonder how that happened…. I was running a Michelin UHD Tube… In 5 years I never got a flat using the UHD in the rear… Tire is near bald after the loop as it was probably 2/3’s when we started… Oh well…
Strength and Energy were two things I lacked, more so energy… I think I handled the Grade 4 terrain well but not the pace… As mentioned I do better with more breaks than we took… It was the first time I really had to man handle the 350… I’d do it again if given the opportunity… I need to build the skills and fitness.. Thanks again Galey I really enjoyed it… I didn’t feel as bad as I was expecting on Tuesday morning…
Madness it was…
I have about 40 minutes of footage I need to edit down… Vids coming soon……….

Next time Murph.. Misses asked to sort something on Saturday….
I disagree with .mov view…
they are easily imported into iMovie and edit no differently than any other movie format…

Hey Murph.. I’ve heard that bike riders parking at the pines have been coming back to their cars to find sliced tires on the car as well as trailers..

GaleyKTM300 wrote:Bob? What do you think about changing Monday to Clarence with Krusty if this comes off?Krusty, I am riding Monday. I would be keen to try out your grade 4 loop at Clarence!
Galey – I would be keen to ride one of your sunny corner loops if that is what was planned for Monday? I PM’d twobanger to see if he was riding as he has a good Grade 4 loop out Clarence way as well… Of course TB knows Clarence quite well as well.. My loop is probably more Grade 3 than 4.. A few interesting hills climbs along the power lines that Chris72a showed me that is probably Grade 4 at least it was in the wet..
I’m keen for whatever fellas!!!!
I might join you Saturday Murph….
