Cheers for that Scott, it’s a way round to achieving what I want. I was trying to drag directly from Finder and it wasn’t having a bar of it!

I’ll watch that vid again next time I try and see if I can replicate your moves!

I tried directly from finder last night moto and as long as you drag it directly into the project section it works fine.. It is just when trying to drag it into the event library that I had the same outcome as you….

I personally still like to bring the photos into iPhoto and archive the originals as I have 8 years of digital photos of me daughter plus 2 of the boy and the last 10 years of traveling photos…. I think I’m up to around 3 grand… Makes it easier to browse and categorize using iPhoto…………

For all you mac users another useful app for document management is http://www.icyblaze.com/idocument/

  Very good STM!!!! I never thought about trying to drop it right into the project space… Duh  The Event Library will only deal with and talk to the integrated apps as well as its own library of videos… Yeah!!! 😆

Tried both, neither seemed to work, it just whafted back to whence it came :D I concluded I would have to add all my pictures to iPhoto in order to make the best use of it, it’s just something I didn’t want to do, I don’t really like iPhoto to store and organise my files.

The Mac is a good bit of kit but it has a few things like this that annoy me!

Understand your frustration mate…. To get the most of the Apple experience and ease of use of their applications you will need to follow their way unfortunately…

I use iPhoto only to integrate the other apps together… I still manually manage my photo files.. When importing into iPhoto just tell iPhoto to suck in a copy of the file into its database. Then any modifications or what not done to the photo in iPhoto will not effect your manually manage file.

    Hope that helps….

re; Other prefab templates for iMovie… Apparently not however there seems to be a way to make your own? Remember iMovie is a mum and dad ease of use type app… If you want a hardcore Video editing solution Apples Final Cut Pro is the way to go…

Ok my bag of tricks showed up today… I can confirm what Moto already has confirmed that the stock LI-Ego arm mount will not slot themselves into a GoPro flat or curved base mount. However I can easily attach the LI-Ego Camera to the Stock GoPro Camera Arm Mount. This then allows me to use any and all GoPro Mount options.

I would have thought LI would have used an arm mount that would be universal to the GoPro base mount leveraging off the huge market of mounts, mount plates and mount arms GoPro already have available.

Why re-invent the wheel eh?

So I now have two curved base mounts and one flat base mount and boat load of mount arms to make use of…. What to do…………… 👿

No worries STM.. Was just noting they seem a bit smoother and clearer on the computer is all..

This video was actually shot using an iPhone back in June when I taught my daughter to ride… She just got on and away she went… I wanted to play with one of the iMovie templates so I used this one…. Being 8 she absolutely loves it and is showing it off to all her friends… 😆

Thanks STM…. I didn’t realize or even think about the 60 frame being forced down to 30 frame during the import… I told iMovie NOT to optimize the video on import so not sure if that has any effect?

On the GoPro mounts working with the LI-Ego… I took a punt and bought the bag of mounts as well as the front helmet mount. While studying the pictures it appears the Ego will work with the GoPro mounts… It seems to me I can attach a GoPro stock arm mount to the ego camera which then means it can mount to any standard GoPro mount.. I’ll know by end of week hopefully… If it doesn’t work I’ll be happy to pass the GoPro stuff onto someone who has a GoPro…

Look forward to your feedback Moto on the clip mounting out of the box… I’m going to try and post some of the footage I took this past weekend this week…

I’m waiting for the iMac refresh that should come after the iPhone 5 release on the 12th of September.. Rumor has it the iMacs will get the retina display in the next refresh…. I’ll be buying a 27 inch iMac with the SSD drive as the OS drive and a 1 TB data drive with 16 gig of memory and the secondary 27 inch apple monitor… Insert Homer Drool……….. :woohoo:

I have spent the last year architeching an Audio Visual / Digital Media Solution across 10 sites of the Austral Asia Region for the Client I work for… The setup includes, standard meeting room audio visual technology, Video Conference Rooms as well as specialized telepresence rooms catering for 18 people, a Digital Signage solution and the highlight for me is at the corporate headquarters we have built a purpose built media and studio room… The Studio Room is getting one of the these babies… http://www.akadesign.co.uk/site_product/promedia/promedia.html

I’m also lucky enough to be professionally trained via work on Apples Final Cut Pro Audio/Video editing suite that goes witht he above… Oh happy days….

The gopro and ego do nothing other than record the video in a specific way and has nothing to do with the editing process.. iMovie is a great little app and a no brainer to learn as Nick has discovered. The output of the editing process will only be as good as the input quality of the video.. STM has shown you can do some pretty cool stuff using the basic editing tools… Good camera with good recording will produce good edited outcomes imo… It is just time consuming…

I recorded 4 decent length videos at Clarence this past weekend with my LI-Ego and I was impressed.. I recorded 720p @ 60 frames per second… There appears to be be a slight shake in some footage but I’m not sure if it is the Camera or the odd movement of me head while riding… I just bought a bunch of mounts and I’ll be setting up various points on the bike to experiment with…

I recorded a full 14 minute blat through some of the pine singles and the file size raw came in around 1.35 gig.. I think for an average using 720p @ 60 frames per second about 500 meg per 5 minutes.

I had no issues finding the action connect app in the app store not sure why you guys seem to have trouble.. It is a nice little app to pre setup the camera view but unless you have the phone mounted on your bars it is a bit a pain in the a$$ to use imo….
