What a great site for old bulls and congratulations on the name. I recently rented a drz 400 and spent the weekend with 2 old mates (we used to ride together in high school) riding rainbow beach and associated tracks. Loved it so much bought a new drz 400 and now looking to meet and ride with like minded blokes.
My bike is just run in 400klm still have to get some gear and fit sump guard , barkbusters and a new tail/brakelight assly and probably radiator guard. Never had a bike with a radiator before. Last bike I owned was more than 20yrs ago Montesa 250 enduro prior to that Honda SL125.
I live in Ormeau (between brisbane and Goldcoast)where there are a few local tracks, havent explored them throughly yet. Looking forward to meeting up with you all at the next Qld event.

G’day gotowo, as said before great name, another Qld Gerry bull here. I have the green version of yours, the klx 400 they are good bikes for us old fellas starting out again. Ktmrat you have my blessings to pick on my green one  all my friends do…….or maybe its the rider they pick on, either or fine with me:laugh:. I am a fair bit north of Brisbane but get down that way a bit so will try to meet some of you guys for a ride. Hav’nt worked roster forward yet to see if working or not on organised ride weekend but if not will try to get there and bring along some other old bulls who can’t work computers .

TB he said I could tease him …..am I allowed to play or not……I am not waiting any more, I gave you 3 seconds to reply…
Sirdropalor….what a cool name again, what the hell is in the water up there …name developing hormones, what a pity you are on the green machine I could really like you, I suppose we cant hold that against you, afterall you may be coloured blind and think it looks orange, maybe even a side effect of the name developing drugs in your water, I suppose a green-yellow bike is better than a yellow-yellow bike.

Welcome to the site mate and I am glad you have said I could tease, I have been told by grumpy bum to pull my head in(and he thought I would stop), and dont think I will take it easy just because you said I could.
Lets hope one day that we can actually ride together,(I could try to run you over).
Have fun and throw it back doubly hard as it is thrown at you my friend

I wonder as to their effectiveness, but if Honda use them they can’t be that bad. Then again Honda can afford to rebuild the engine every few rides.

The way to do filters is to get about 10 decent ones and do them all at once. Then you’re sweet for the next 10 or so rides befores having to do them again :)

Moto, For the 4 race bikes I prep for my boys I have around 30 odd filters and that’s exactly what I do , I clean about every 3 weeks rather than every day

I am in, lets see how quick someone can destroy something with a whipper snipper, next party its a definite consideration, I have been in training for years for this without even knowing it:woohoo:

A Chux is a dish cloth that is a real thin blue or yellow colour usually, they are really good for the flat type filter, I too have used them for years in the KTM 50 air filters as pre filters

I have a mate that used to live on the river at hack’s original ferry site and he took us across on his little piss punt – a floating device that is used to get to the pub at tele, but he moved out years ago

I saw it as a way to cross the river from Telepoint, just looking for another way to the Nth Shore with out having to go into Port Macquarie.

Hacks ferry was the original ferry across for the highway, and was retired(scuttled under the bridge in a 160 foot hole thats there) when the bridge at tele point was put there 25 odd years ago

The O-ring is a slightly smaller one than normal in diameter but a little thicker and stretches in quite well, I will get the exact size to you tomorrow

Not trying to bag any bikes out, If I had to spend that to keep a bike going I wouldn’t be riding.

I suppose some of us love it more than others, and try to do the kms as hards as I do and you will see what I mean
