Perfect Chris, depending on what thickness you use you may have to brace in the middle to stop flexing inwards, but even if it does it wont alter anything, Alloy would be the go and permanently attached is a hassle some times when you need a totally flat bottom, Good luck my friend
Chris, a Mate of mine has a 5 X 8 box trailer and he has made a frame out of angle iron that is like a H pattern with top and bottom sections, the whole thing just laid in the bed when he wants to cart bikes, the tops and bottoms have a straight tube section that is 5 foot wide and stops sideways movement and the length of the thing is 7 foot so forward to back movement is impossible, the whole thing sits there and is held down with the tiedowns of the bike, weighs nothing takes seconds to convert top normal box then to bike/box, real easy and was done in two rums, piece of piss Mate
OK you can have the last word…….You Hang up……no you hang up first….really you hang up ,its allright

Quote:You certainly are cracking yourself up this morning MR Rat. Mate the XR was in its element there yesterday. That is the sort of riding I initially had in mind when I bought it, not the gnarly RiderX boot camp sort of stuff. Although she holds her own quite well in that environment, even better if it had a more capable rider at the helm.No Mate they are still slow even with a capable rider…..Hang on you nearly got me again ……all the capable riders are on ORANGE….I am going to the shed to the no toil air filter oil…time to oil some filters
Mick the reason you wait ten Mins is you are riding with the pushies not the motos, I have told you before to play with kids your own age… you know how upset you get when the kids with training wheel go past you

Quote:Hey Rat, do you know who distributes polisport in aus, or any online dealers so I can check some pricing, just downloaded their 20mb catalogue. I’ll get a price for UFO and Polisport, both will do the same job.Cheers
Chris.Sorry Mate I get them from the USA, but the exchange rate is not happy at the moment for that, Polisport is the OEM for KTM and Yamaha so fit will be perfect, dont be tempted into Acerbris, shit fit, looks crap, and expensive :S

Quote:Sikaflex, need to get me some of that! My Toe caps keep coming loose, the more I tighten them the more they loosen.Chris if you want to get real anal, JB weld in the little holes the nails go in, then replace the nails with the smallest self tapper you can find, old computer boards will have plenty, then before you put them on the black sikaflex(only black not white or clear) on the steel toecap and you are set for riding

Obviously worth spending the extra coin if you can get life like that.
Do you pay any special attention to your boots to get them to last that long or is it more that the Alpine Stars are just that much better?
Dan I only sponge off the dirt never pressure wash, I never hose inside the boots, they are always aired out with the inner booties removed and the inner booties get washed every second week, souls get replaced around the 3000-5000 km mark, uppers last great, steel caps gone within 4000-5000 km but you can get replacements and if you use black sikaflex to stick them on as well as nails supplied they wont go anywhere for the life of your boots ,
Did you not see the teasing I gave you earlier my blue friend….Hari christna LOL

Now we have 300 odd people that probably wouldn’t chose that brand next time they buy boots.
CHris.
I am a little more proactive than just telling everyone, I believe in cutting close to the quick, hit where it hurts the most, the importers pocket, and thats the USA importer from china as well as the importer in Australia, the only drama with just spreading the word is the rate of newbies that dont know is always rising and the rip offs still occur
You are welcome Mate(even though you ride blue), polisport is another good brand of plastics

Yeah but it is real good when the riding starts because the bullshit stops and they are not so talkative from there on in:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Do the yanks speak that now
Chris I have got a complete set for all the brand new bikes I have purchased when they were spankers and this is the way to go, your bike when you sell it has a set of the genuine plastics with decals all unscathed, this means that you wont have any trouble getting your price when selling, worth every cent IMO
I did not even notice Mick Faaark 200 posts, you poor bastards having to put up with me……hang on you are a tolerant bunch look at how many you, Moto and TB have. There is still a chance I might get a word in sideways
