Sometimes on Dusty Days it is good to swap the sweep rider around but this can only be done if the whole group is together and aware of it, and they all get told to now look at this new person as the sweep not the previous one, in this case the bright vest is fantastic to help hammer it home that they are the sweep.
We Have also used a bright Hair scrunchy elastic thingo you put on the handlebars of the sweep, in a spot easily seen from the oncoming view

There is a thing you can use and it is better than dubbin. it is called neatsfoot oil, and it conditions leather from the inside and not the outside like dubbin and the rest, you will get better penetration of the hide from the inside as well so be careful of over-treating, I usually throw the whole jar in a sink full of hot water to make it real runny, I then pour the entire contents into one boot, slosh it around real quick and the pour out of that boot into the second one, slosh around quick and then pour out and back into the original jar, you will start with 500 mls and end up with about 100 mls at the end. You will have smelly socks and feet for a while but the boots will stay hard on the outside and be softer around your feet on the inside, you also only have to do this once for the life of the boot.
    Enjoy!!

I’m not convinced that the Berg’s are any better than a KTM (I don’t think much of KTM’s).

You two have a lot of learning to do to step up to the Pumpkins , it has been noted by the Gods and a memo has been sent to the corresponding poeple , beware of breakdowns, they are a coming….(says he who has broken both)

I was thinking that but my bike does have a throaty burble to it. I do have a quiet insert but would still be scared if they were testing to 94dba as opposed to 96. I’ll bring my standard muffler along anyway.

Do you have any more details Mick?

Hey Moto , Mate dont worry about sound testing, with the pony expresses I expect a lot of bush only riders that are not up to race specs, I promise you you wont need it your standard unit as I am the only one there who would be called upon to test suspects anyway……..the batteries have been know to go flat real quick with the sound meter especially if they are not in the darn thing…..dont stress Old Bull…..its all good…..cheques payable to my wife are fine….but cash is better…See you up here
