From what I learnt on the phone from Dave yesterday I wouldnt hold your breath and wouldnt wait to be overly amazed in my opinion.-CONDEMNATION WITHOUT INVESTIGATION IS THE HEIGHT OF ARROGANCE, Sorry TB but its true

There are improvements that was agreed, but its a compromise within a compromise and its only making it run cooler which I for one have issues with, but there hasn’t been any dyno testing to date and no exhaust gas analysis under load so who really knows whats besides they make the engine run cooler?

    So I wait as well

I will pass your feelings and thoughts to Bull:(

He should be back on air next week

One would think it would leak some where if a seal was dicky, unless it was bleeding back into itself up at the handlebar end of the world, do you have to rebleed to get pressure or just pump it up with the lever, if you rebleed and get air out , then where has the fluid gone, Questions , questions and more questions, I dont know if they help or not:)

What we need to do is get 2 similar bikes and the same rider do say 4-5 laps around a mx track on each bike and compare times, the stop watch dont lieB)

One of my trades is a Airconditioning refrigeration mechanic and the laws of thermodynamics is always being put to use, Often we have to slow down the flow of water from the heat exchanger to reduce the systems head pressure and also to reduce erosion of the cooling tubes.Food for thoughtB) I have mentioned this before, but after seeing some of Bulls work If I were racing I would be getting the Motocool treatment done.

    My 2c worth

    Ollie

    Even better Ollie
4 IDENTICAL bikes 2 riders 4 sets data loggers
2 bikes with treatments done 2 without
Riders ride same track same time then swap bikes
after the first tests the bikes systems are swapped and the standard ones become the altered and the altered becomes the standard, all test are then rerun with rider swaps included.

you would now have data to settle all debates, but be prepared for thinking changes and previous understandings need changing as well

Been there done that, the thinking changes that is, not the 4 data loggers

I am sure by our banter and phone calls is just healthy debate :P

Yes no dramas here mate all just healthy debate for sure, how else would we go forwards if we did not challenge what we think we understand

when you really think you have your head around it , its not until you realise a little about something, and then you work out you dont know a lot about it at all

Dave thats the biggest shuffle of shit I have ever seen on the website and there is some shit here, you answered nothing, you just danced around and spat dribble

” its not until you realise a little about something, and then you work out you dont know a lot about it at all”

What the hell, you are doing nothing to convince me or anybody with that, if there is something to it your not helping Bull’s cause with that explanation if thats what you call it

    TB

Hey TB lets not go down the road of the biggest shit slinger, I can’t win that one my friend, and you know it

So not one to be blamed for shit shuffling let me explain my shit shuffling comment one more time for the dummies…

Its not until you realise a little about something(and here it means you think you have the function of the cooling system in hand) and than you work out you dont know a lot about it at all, (and here this means the operation of the cooling system is not at all as you thought and now you have to relearn what you thought you already learnt and knew before), so to recap

“Its not until you realise a little about something, and then you work out you dont know a lot about it at all”

No crock of shit there just some outside the square thinking TB:P :P :P

No convincing of anything, just sharing, after all you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink…..do you want an explanation for that as well:laugh:

Looks like someone needs to open the thermostat on this topic to cool it down. Or is it close the thermostat a little, to slow the flow, to cool i down, or maybe use diffusers to direct the flow…or is it…. bah!

If we still had the karma system I would have given you 1 for that:laugh:

Actually TB, an old superbike I was able to play with had flow restrictors in place of a thermostat, and this was a trick used on some road bikes back in the eighties, just a disc with a hole drilled in the middle placed in various parts of the system. Wish i paid more attention to that now, instead of what duration and lift the cams had, and what choke size was in the carbys……

Uh Huh BC…… that a boy……… way back when computers did not think for us.

Ok I promised not to get involved any further in this thread but i cannot help myself, many years ago one had wire in ones’ oil cooler cores to help the oil actually transfer heat to the atmoshere via the aluminium jacket, the wire was to interupt straight flow and cause a “swirling action, to add to this many moons ago I set an alloy 4 core showa radiator in a high perf rotary powered car at a 25 degrees neg slant so the air couldn’t just pass through it had to turn and force past the obstacle before it and therefore more air to more surface area of the fins/cores etc, it also had the benefit of being a huge radiator of exerting downward pressure to hold the car down at very high speeds, as the vehicle was well under 1100kgs wet weight.

Now to go back to slowing the medium down, this makes a lot of sense, and as also the coolant could be flowing “inside itself” like I s’pose a piece of resin cored solder, and be coll on the inner but hot on the outer… but this is all just surmising on my behalf with no actual science behind my thoughts.

    BC

    Uh Huh:) :) :) :) :) Keep thinking BC

its easy Mate, if you rush the coolant past said object to be cooled then it has not much time to take the heat, has it,….therefore increasing flow does not always help

Maybe so, I still don’t think the cooling mod will help much. If you could increase(wrong Moto, increases in flow usually result in less cooling exchange efficiency) flow and maintain the temperature at the optimum then yes, but the motocool system keeps all the standard gear Wrong Moto, the standard gear is usually added to somewhat, and the full race version replaces whole pump assemblies, like the 525 kit that Bull has on Scott’s bike but acts to maximise it’s efficiency.

    Sorry Moto but I still love you ya know:P :) :) :)

So after two painful injuries to my right foot in less than a year, I am in the market for a better set of boots that offer more protection than the Oneil M10’s.
    Ideas anyone?

Alpinestars Tech 8…..only boot for the bush……. IMO of course

Dave does Bull hire the $5000 Data logger for every bike he does?

    TB

At that time TB , Bull worked where the data logger lived and it came home “overnight by accident” and stayed with us for weeks and weeks, just as well they had several at work;) ;)
