Every now and then a special bike comes out and the people who own them become attached to them, The XR650 seems to be one of these bikes as every bloke I know that has one or has had one is highly fond of them.

damn a bloke I know in Brisbane damn near talked me into one last year….

And this is a feeling for a bike i understand, for me it was the 1984 RM125D off-road, and the RZ500R onroad.

There must be something wrong with me……..I get like that with every bike:)

Well, as of the 21st July I have owened my bike exactly one year. It was my first enduro bike and my first bike after my road bike way back in 1998. How time flies…..

It has been an excellent year and my 08′ KTM 450 has been a worthy steed. We’ve had some great times together and through my new passion I have met many new people, all of which I consider to be my friends. It has also led me to this great site and the fun and games that come as part of being an Old Bull.

Stuck on this ship with lots of spare time to ponder the last 12 months I have realised that in my first year I have done many types of rides, covered almost 5000K’s and even had my first and second bike related surgery’s :P

In total I have spent 4 months off the bike this year (injury and work as the cause), so practical experience is only really about 8 months. I have come along way from the days of being nervous about raising the front wheel off the ground in 1st gear and almost pooping my panties when I managed to break traction with the rear wheel pulling a little power slide on the firetrail :P

Here’s to many more years of riding for me, all of you OBT’ers and to continued friendships.

    Happy trails :)

Good report Mate, thats what having a passion for riding bikes does to you, brings the best out I say, the Old Bull site brings us together to share the madness, and to the non riding adults out there in the world we are classed as Mad, crazy, deathwish types, but I do feel sorry for them leading their mundane lives. Lets hope you have many more 8 months a year.

Hey Moto, the main reason you only got 8 months was the side of the drawer you get your undergarments from, when you get them out of the other side of the draw you may be able to work up to 12 months, Panties are for girls, they are on the left, Undies are for boys they are on the right:P :P :P

It is a way of equalizing the fluid to pressure change therefore allowing a constant thermal exchange rate, ….usually more efficiently than the vast sliding scale differences and thermal ineffectiveness of the standard set up, thats it in a nut shell,

    but,

I am not the Man to ask, I am just the recipient of said technology and can say yes it works , Ask KTMBull, about the thing it is his Work that has done this for three of my bikes so far, and more as funds permit:)

No I am wrong about the ball being here my man, I have checked and the two piece shaft with ball bearing has changed to one shaft and no ball bearing and one thrust needle bearing, sorry Mate I will keep the thinking hat on:(

Moto according to the who-wha on the instructions of the ducks guts charger I have just got for my bike(first time in 9 years I have bought a charger for the bike)the thing does micro cycles of charging, discharging and fluxing the battery, this is in turn supposed to stop sulphication(is that the word) of the said battery thus prolonging lifespan, I had a battery problem recently and the suss battery is now fine , and there are plugs that plug into it permanently , I will wait and see how long the suss battery lasts
