    Huge thanks to all,
Ive pretty much had ktmrats aproach for the past 12 months and strongly agree (he should write a documentry with that list) I listend to the first couple of doctors and specialists over the first couple of years and detiourated to the point of permenant crutches until i met a surgen who understood that surgery for me was a deathbed option in my eyes (as ktm said 50% chance of fix with100% no riding)not a option
Phys 3 times per week including lots of PILATIES, wtf i said at first but the shit really works!
well its decided fu*k surgery for the immediate future ill just get more braces for now,
ktm with that list and counting i know who is my rollmodel:ohmy: lol
how about the first who sucomes to the knife buys the beers/rum:lol:

As far as a documentary on injuries….you guys would not believe me. I have had all the pins, plates and screws removed a few months after they were put in, because they all vibrated out with the riding, as I said I ache all over and its good to ride to offset this, if I dont ride I still ache but have the shits as well, so the decision is….ride and ache or….. no ride and still ache….a no brainer of a choice in my books….and thats why I am looking at 1.5 million KMs soon….live to ride and ride to live:laugh:

Mate I have ruptured three disks in one spill, and cracked two vertebra in another at a separate time, I have torn muscles from vertebra, after the first trauma the doc wanted to operate, but the trade off was no more riding, all I can say is try other doctors……you will find there is always an alternative. I have not had any operations and I am in constant dull pain if I don’t ride, the riding keeps all the muscle groups happening and this is what floats my boat. I was looking down the barrel of a 50/50 chance of a fix, but 100% no riding anymore.
    F@ck that, I breath, I move , I ride.
The more often I can work out the body on the bike the better it feels…….THE ONLY LOOSE LINK………GOD Damn it hurts now when I do fall off….Not an easy path to tread my friend, investigate further before doing drastic surgery, Good Luck

For grips try wrapping the ends of the bar in insulation tape then swishing some petrol around inside the grip. This will melt the grip slightly as it goes on and it will set hard as buggery. The tape allows you to get the grips off again afterwards with no problem. No tie wire required either. Simple, fast and very effective.:)

What about the throttle side ?

Yep, both sides. Use it every time, works perfectly! Just don’t forget the insulation tape underneath or it becomes problematic to remove the grips when they are done. Try it next time, you won’t do it any other way again!

I will try this ….Thanks …I will let you know:laugh:

Thanks guys ..yep im gonna try and repair the old pipe doing the freezer thing ..heres hopeing i will keep it as a spare

Dave,I have tried the freezer trick bloody painfull and didnt really have much success. The other way is to get some industrial ball bearings the same diameter as the ID of the header, wack em in one after the other as they are forced thru the dents are pushed out;) Yamaha’s are renowned for doing the fork seals, the biggest problem with them is they dont have enough protection from the mud flying off the front wheel as the gaitors dont go all the way around.Neoprene should help if you clean it after every ride.

    cheers Ollie

Ollie I like the ball bearing trick. have you tried this before, if so how much did the bearings cost and how many would you use, also the freezer trick is a long a slow process as it only does a little bit per cycle and getting the tide height right and in the right spot of the pipe can be a drama, you have to put the thing at some funny angles, I found that a mates workshop freezer was the go but it did take several thawing and refreezing cycles, if you have the time and patience this is the cheapest solution I have found….I still like the idea of big ball bearings…….i am getting a smile just thinking about the look on my young fella’s face (he loves marbles) if he was to see a steellie of that size:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Guys, seal savers serviced every ride will save your seals with out a doubt(and lets face it its easy to unvelcro clean and reinstall them), if you do not clean them out every ride they will hold dirt and act like fine emery…..cleaning regularly is the go:) :)

Get the renthal glue, and combined with tie wire, you wont move the grip at all.
As far as seal savers go, I hear a whisper the Old Bulls store may have some rolls royce ones soon, keep your eyes glued to the store
