Sunday’s trip back to Capertee from Sunny Corner Camp site.

We left the camp site with Galey at the front followed by TB then myself untill Galey got us back to where we finished the pre-ride a few weeks earlier. Once we were on track Galey had a little purler uphill single track up his sleeve to sort us all out before the ride back. Of which we had not done on the pre-ride  . So TB asked me to lead on with Galey on the harder route while he took the rest of the crew on the easier route, i thught ok why not that should be fine  . Well f#$k me I first turned into the uphill purler and stalled the f#$^*r and with my short legs on a tricky uphill, thats not a good idea, we got our crap together and got going again. :) . The only thing was that as i was in contact with TB via bluetooth when i stalled i mentioned a few expletives and TB thought i was calling him a #$@% but i was actually saying that to myself  . Then when we got to the top of the first section Galey was stopped and everyone was going left up the road so i thought that was all. Only to realise he was waiting for the traffic to pass before continuing across the road and up the hill. Well f#$k me i tried to turn around only to put my foot in a hole. and no second guess for what happened then. Yep I was on my arse!! Then by the time i picked her up a few guys were on their way up the hill only to stop a few times on the way up   then my problems began once more with those short legs. All good though i made it to the top only to stop just short of the top. :( Thanks to Galey for getting the bike out for me I was shagged. I didn’t feel too bad as Sam got stuck right at the top too, after trying to make his own line. Thanks Sam. ;)
We finally all got up and left to catch up with the others.

We followed TB back with various hard/easy routes only to find that I was nominated for all the hard lead routes  and when i questioned if TB wanted to lead the hard route his bluetooth stopped working  funny about that. To be honest i actually enjoyed the challenges as long as i didn’t make a meal of it.

However I only whish i had a camera on my helmet or bars as TB demonstrated how to perfectly execute a ghosty in the singles though the pines. F#$k me it was pretty to watch. We had been cruising through the pines only to come across a few trees down across the track, not so bad, just go round eh! Well as i came around the corner all i saw was one big mother of an XR650 launch from about 2m down to the left of the single behind a tree with the rear wheel about 3 feet in the air with no TB attached. It was a gold moment and after i checked that he was ok i nearly threw it away myself from laughter :woohoo: :woohoo: Sorry champ but the story had to be told! :P

It was a great ride back, with the odd moment or two.

Thanks to everyone involved I had an absolute blast and can’t wait to catch up again with all the crew for the next one.

Cheers,

Lefty

Sunday’s Rides

We started another ride on Sunday led by Mal5.1 and swept by Kram. Thanks gents. ;) It was a fairly steady ride with a little tricky/slippery creek crossing which bought a few boys undone  but it was great to see the comraderie among the guys to help others out.;) After that Mal took us through some awesome pine forest singles which were part of the 4day special tests. :woohoo: Thanks Mal, they were an awesome start to the mornings ride. We had some good fast tricky downhill sections also, which i must admit i nearly ran out of talent  going down as it was rutt infested and at some stage i was thinking to myself “f#%k me slow down you swapper & don’t crash” as i got the kato back under control. I am sure at some stage i was in every rutt at once   If i cut anyone off going down that hill i must appologise it was certainly not intentional.
We then ventured down a steep rock infested down hill to a creek crossing and on the other side was an awesome hillclimb. It was a combination of damp red clay and some loose shale. Not too long about 100m or so but quite steep and a little cracker. I was behind a couple of guys and hit the bottom in third and just held it on. I thought to myself momentum is the key here so stay on it! Then all of a sudden there was one bike stopped half way so i just had to change lines, which was a bit awkward but i made it to the top still in 3rd! :woohoo: :woohoo: It was awesome, then i turned around to see bike carnage everywhere stopped on the hill. So we helped turn everyone around and those who wanted to have a crack had another go. Micknmeld was the first to have a go on the big XR650 and tractored up like a Massey Ferguson, pretty to watch champ! I was down halfway catching a few bikes on the way up it was great and i hope someone got some pics.

It was then time to head back to pack up for the after noon ride to Capertee……

More later,

Cheers

Sorry Axel it wasn’t me as i only left my swag with all the others before the truck was packed. my stuff went in TB’s ute.

Sorry Champ!

As we drove to Capertee along the Mudgee road the temperature dropped to -3deg on the dash on TB’s Hilux and the fog was as thick as pea soup in some spots. Anyway as you all know it was bloody cold but everone was pumped for a great weekend. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was thinking i may need one of these! B)

We left our gear with Moose, Tiny and the Redneck twins (Bubba and Sam) to pack into the truck, and trailer (A special thanks to all the support crew on the weekend, you guys were awesome!) ;) and we were on our way.

I was riding sweep with TB, Nickj and King STM which was great fun, thanks guys. STM and I helped out Pete the Wulf change a tube in a flat rear that he encounted  but then we had to repair his rear chain block as is was falling off. A couple of cable ties did the trick and we were on our way.;) Btw Pete I think STM had my drink on Saturday night.  It was a nice steady ride to camp and great fun.

After we got to camp and set up, had a bite to eat. Well sort of  as TB was doing the lunches but had a few too many the night before and well no lunch eh! But he did pack the bread, bit dry though

The afternoon ride was a leasurely grade 2 ride led by Mal 5.1, thanks Mal, and i went sweep. To be honest i thought it may have been a little mundane but i actually had a great time with the guys as we were only in a small group and I started to teach Sam13 a few little tips like standing up and squeezing the bike to gain better balance and control which was very satisfying. Well done Sam ;) and i hoped i helped in some way.

Saturday night was great. Thanks to all the sponsors for their donations of prizes and auction items as it all goes to a good cause. Thanks to TB and Chris72a for all the work done behind the scenes, to Bollocks for being such a great auctioneer, bloody great job. I appologise to anyone that I may have missed who also worked behind the scenes to put this weekend on it was awesome to be apart of with a great bunch of blokes. ;)
Sorry to hear about Mick as i have been in that situation before with a broken pelvis  Unfortunately i didn’t get to meet him but i wish him all the best in his recovery. Get well soon Mick. ;)

Day 2 later, but feel free to ask TB about his ghosty :P :silly: It was pretty to watch.

Cheers,

Well where do i start? What a bloody fantastic weekend!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

It all actually started at TB’s on friday afternoon dropping my bike off & meeting up with Eagle and Jeffro. Eagle and Jeffro were great and took care of my stuff while I had to go back to work. But I must admit Eagle was like a dog with two dicks  and so proud of his new Kato 690 so i had to take a look. Awesome bike champ, wish i had one.
Went back to TB’s after work and caught up with some more OB’s. Had a couple of beers and helped Mick change his rear tyre after there was a little banter.  Went home, serviced the bride, (I could only hope!) No go there! :( , so got some sleep. Then when TB arrived to pick me up at 5:15am he looked like the colour of bad shit  so i guess it was my turn for a steer. We met the crew at Macca’s Blaxland and headed for Capertee. :woohoo: So before we left Macca’s i thought i would warm my shoulders up, as they need a bit of attention before a ride, so i put some Goanna heat cream onto them ;) Well that gave TB a bit of something to snort on the way up   :P but i can assure you he was not real happy about it but as i was driving his car i was pretty sure he wouldn’t have an up and under in it.

Well when we got to Macca’s Lithgow all was back on track. Had some brekky and headed to Capertee for the start…….

More later, dinner is on!

Cheers,

Lefty

Hey Aido,

It sounds like a fuel pump issue it is common with the new Injected Berg’s. No fuel pressure. I know of about half a dozen that have had the same problem. See if you can get it sorted under warranty.

Cheers Lefty.
