Give it time, price will drop.
The exciting thing about these, is that there should be more opportunity to have tracks open closer to home.
Imagine if you could have a mid week, under lights practice session or even race meeting within an hour of Sydney CBD!
Close off a carpark for a few hours that does not get used out of normal working hours and run a supermoto!I’m sure most people’s complaint when it comes to improving their riding ability is the lack of time and opportunity to ride regularly.
Ha Ha, nice write up, today is the first day i have been able to walk somewhat properly.
The end and inside edge of my big toe, top and bottom of the ball of my foot and behind the two toes next to the big one went all funny sorts of purple, and the heel had a good jarring also. :pinch:Nothing broken though !! First world problems, so pulled out my stiffer THOR boots this arvo and heading out to Clarence late tomorrow arvo and tackling the technical stuff :cheer:
Looks like i’ll be busy at work for the next few weeks, so wont be able to get out during normal working hours to meet up with you Galey, but hopefully Dec/Jan we can tee something up again. Keen as to get up Red Belly Hill in one go, and that trickier than it looked rock step up and turn
Thanks again Galey for showing off some fantastic trails :woohoo:
Once again, it was a good challenge to have a go at obstacles that previously i would follow the well worn detours. Whilst ‘resting’
on red belly hill, I observed Galey feet up, cruising up, using my bike as a mobile chicane.
As Galey metioned, I first tweaked my foot as the bike pivoted over a log and didnt quite go in the direction I was planning  , as the day rolled on, it became more uncomfortable to use the rear brake.
Whilst cruising on some well cut-in trails through the gum trees, up to the lookout that hangliders use, I let out a loud “F%$#!!” and instantly felt
Once some sensation came back to my foot, it felt an inch shorter than it should be. A minute later, pins and needles, but could wiggle my toes, so off we continued, me a little more cautious of stumps in the grass.
We finished off the day doing a loop through Loam City, with MDR and Galey having a good thumper-nats style dash roaring up the hill full bore, hair pin, sailing back down ,roosting another hair pin, then roaring up approaching the next hair pin passing to my side as I am still rounding the first mentioned hair pin.
Once Ive stopped hobbling around, I’m looking forward to practicing log hopping and a few more vertical hill climbs and be ready for the next Mad n Wild Ride 👿

I’ve owned as standard one myself, and i have had the fortunate opportunity to ride a Peter Cambell built ex-Len Norris YZ250 on methanol, a proper 2 st is sure hard to beat for thrills :woohoo:see you there at 9
Mary’s is on the left as you drive in the way we did last week yeah?could be fun, I’ll see if i can get the morning off. Talk yo you closer to the day Galey. What time would you be finishing up?
Regards, Carl.” so your’e going to be led deep into bushland in an area your’e not familiar with, with people you haven’t met before?”
“Yeah honey, what could go wrong”
some people dont understand bike riders :whistle:Well, this was first time I have showed up to a graded trail ride with people i did not know, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Only I my way home from the ride, at the newsagent I pick up the latest issue of Trailzone, and on pg 24, I notice a photo of Galey, captioned ” …also known as the Torturer”!
Fortunatley, medogrocket was on a comeback from a knee reconstruction, so this saved me from to much punishment. After introductions and some warm up on a nice freshly cut single line practice loop through the grass, off we ventured.
As we progressed, some mention was made of getting to hill climb that during the A4DE was littered with fallen bikes and stranded riders. Toby Price even had dramas. Nervous? just a little
” keep your momentum, she’ll be right, just dont stop” was the advice medogrocket offered :unsure:Soon after, up we went, that was a little tricky, but ok, anticipation of pain is worse than pain itself.
To confirm, casually i comment to Galey,
” so that was Slate hill?”
” nah , down this gully and we’ll find it up the other side” :blink:Now for the real thing, after seeing Galey cruise up, monkey see, monkey do. half way up, arm pump, but going OK, medogrocket thunders past, front wheel of the 570 floating. Thats how i’ll do it next time
After a relatively event free but thoroughly enjoyable half day ride, a big thumbs up and thanks again Galey for the invite and showing us some ripper tracks. Normally I ride more grade 2 typical bigbore adventure type terrain, and try ( try )to ride at a grade 5 pace, so it was good to get a little bit out of my comfort zone and into a bit more technical terrain. Gratitude also to medogrocket for imparting some local knowledge and shared sense of humour.
Looking forward to getting out there again soon!!
Regards ,CarlHi Galey,
Definitely in! Let me know where and when to meet.
Might have a friend from Hartley also on a WR450F, depending of fire commitments.
Cheers, Carl.sounds like fun.
I’ll see if i can get the day off work.
Regards, Carl. wr250f,Looks like some tricky little hills 👿
In the interest of trying to be helpful, maybe it was just the sound recording, but on that last one it sounded like the throttle was being blipped quickly on the way up, causing the rear to break traction more and loose momentum. If you tried, a more constant, smoother application of throttle, i would like to think you might get all the way up.
Glad to see it looked like you guys had fun, we’ve spent the last 2 afternoons exploring Jenolan Caves state forest, there is some cracker trails out there.

Regards, CarlHi TB,
Phone number worked, all booked in to one of the dorms !! Cheers TB.Now, I was talking to Shirl, and she mentioned she can provide a buffet breakfast (cereal, toast, bacon and eggs, coffee, tea etc ) for $15 a head on the Saturday morning at a time to suit us.
If we get some numbers from the other riders, is this something we should organise in advance, or TB do you have alternative intentions?
Regards, Carl
HI TB,
I’ve tried clicking on the link for brecken ridge on the first page of this thread you’ve created, but keep getting “page unavailable”.
Do you have some other contact details?
CarlHi TB, We enjoyed the last, so please include us on this one. Carl, Damien and Neil.
