Matter of fact Pete, yes
Correcty me if I’m wrong but the goal is to ride the furthest distance in the longest day of the year, sun up to sun set.
This would be a personal challenge due to differing conditions for other attempts.
Since BB’s ride this year it has crossed my mind a few times as the days get longer, although riding straight roads for a day doesn’t seem that appealing to me.
BB left from around Penrith way which gives a clear straight run west. If your planning from the coast it would take a couple of hours to get faster roads, so comparitively I’d be a couple of hours behind and slower average speed.
It would be a good one to tick off the list though. You’d want to have the iPod full of songs.
Top ride Moto
Thanks for putting it together
Great bunch of blokes to ride with too
Put new seals in the KTM forks and found that probably Terry Hayes has had these forks because there is a different compression piston and only one DU bush on the slider (should have two with a spacer between them)
They work good enough though

Hair spray and tie wire
Go to woolies and get the super heavy duty extra strong type that if used on the old beahive hair dos would act as a hard hat if a steel beam landed on it.
After all, hair spray is just and adhesive
Spray on bar, spray inside grip, slips on easy
If you’re posting for a ride at 8.30 on a friday night for a ride the next day you must have your shit together
Meet at Woods Rd corner of Hue Hue Rd for a ride in the Watagans
8am Ready to ride
At least a half day ride ( it will be for some going) or until we’ve had enough
Grade 3 with some hopping over logs that have been dropped over the tracks, making some new tracks and exploring and linking up blocked tracks
PMed my number

That’s good cause I bought the dianese copy today. There is a problem with it though, the belly strap has been made a bit short….must be a design fault.
I’ll give it a go tomorrow
Having crash tested my Dianese body armour and broken my collar bone in five ,it’s got me thinking what would have happened if I had been wearing the forcefield soft armour. The Dianese has hard plastic outer with some soft padding attached to the inside. The pattern of the holes in the soft padding was visible on my skin so it was a big hit having high sided the bike and knocked myself out.
In this instance I’m not sure by using the entirely soft armour would have lessened the injury.
Funny this post has been resurected. I looked at copy Dianese body armour today and it fitted well for $99. My current Dianese body armour must be 10 years old and I havn’t found it again to replace it.
It needs replacing though. The buttons and rivets have come off the back brace and I’ve used cable ties to keep it together.
Pity there is only the choice of soft and hard and not a bit of both.
