Good one Jeffro
It was an interesting ride and got no where near the good single.
We dragged the bikes over some logs, found some dead ends, got muddy in bog holes, and when I go home I jumped on the DR650 and went for a spin through Ourimbah SF to Jerrys for a latte and baked New York cheese cake. I had my pinky out when I drank the latte. Culturrre
Who said you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Oh and came across an al qaeda squad doing some training. Investigating that one. Any coppers on the site interested pm me if you want.

If it pops on decel it’s a smidge lean and may need go down a clip on the needle. For the Staintune exhaust on my DR650 I went bigger on the pilot jet which has solved the problem. Wouldn’t the main jet be closed on decel if the throttle is closed? dunno .
I get jets from Show and Go Motorcycles in South Australia. They know what jets are, always have them and do fast postage and are priced right.
Today the DR went back into Adv mode. It was put back to standard to be sold and replaced which didn’t happen.
It’s amazing how how much stuff is added to a standard adv bike.
Made up spare wheels for the KTM with UHD tubes and trying a Duro rear tyre
Yeah, just read it again and it brings back good memories.
That’s the good thing about posting ride reports

I don’t know if anyone on the APC experienced the “exploding water bushes” next to the track that we hit with the panniers and hand guards. I had to use a scourer to get that stuff off.
TB, there should be an ADV RR from when I went down there with Tryhard.
Remember not to ride through any farmers paddocks even if the GPS tells you to and the Hattah camping area is 40kph apparently. Wish I’d know that before roaring up behind the ranger vehicle.

Last year was good riding around Nundle and sounds like you have some top trails planned too.
Bring it on
Great topic Moto, every day is bike day
Went over to MickP’s stable (who is up Cape York for a month 4wd) pulled out my shock from ONE of his DR650s that we swaped over and he put a standard spring on. Tried to work if he would notice if I swapped his KTM front end fitted to the DR with some shite. Got home to put my spring on how Teknik did and not quite sure. Got hold of mickP in Gulf of Carp. Sorted I think.
Told Mickp his KTM990 goes great….he didn’t believe me. If I find the keys though, it’s test ride time.
Looked at my KTM450 all preped and ready for …..

I’ll make a decission tomorrow that I’ll do a prerun from Cooranbong to Milfield for food/fuel/beer and back, this Sunday. As much single trail as I can manage.
The prerun is not so I know where I’m going rather if I’m fit enough.

You’d be due for a new bike soon anyway with the amount of times your out riding.

I have a ‘faint interest in riding at Stockton Beach’
And would like to ‘”cut fully sick” in the dunes’
Consider my interest expressed and I am in
July 21, 2012 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Tyre Pressure for DR650 Fully Loaded with Dunlop 606’s across Simpson Desert #226185Hey DakarChick
I think I used 24psi front and rear the whole trip with a Bridestone ultra heavy duty front tube and a Heidenau heavy duty rear tube (when are they going to make an UHD 17″ rear???)
Front tyre was a Pirelli MT21 and a rear 606 both with rim locks
It worked well for me the whole trip
You may want to drop tyre pressure in the ‘hills of death’
It depends on conditions really
And you’ve seen the RR
cheers
lotsa
