I was looking for parts to steel or swap off the shiney new DR all week but moose is a light sleeper.
check your setti9ngs STM.
there should be a box to enter a mobile phone number.
remember to use international format.

Now that’s adventure riding.

Looks like Tryhard is out but I’m coming just for the lamb curry.
Another ussual who would like to come along is starting to develop a nasty illness that may be too serious for him to go to work but well enough to ride.
The small bearing on the output shaft (the opposite end of the sprocket) failed and peices fell into some of the gears causing damage. The load on the shaft was taken by one of the shift forks to the extent that the shift fork had discoloured from heat at the contact point. The damaged gears were replaced with two complete gear clusters and shift fork set sourced second hand. New piston rings went in while it was apart.
Tested ok riding for a couple of hours the other night and will go through Ourimbah SF to get a latte:) and back on Saturday morning to give it another couple of hours test.
All good so far and just need to pack my gear and I’m off.
Count me in Nick
The bike is back together and had a short test ride so chomping at the bit bit to do some adventuring.
Tryhard is still begging to the powers that be for a leave pass.
I can’t wait to ride. I passed a guy on a adv bike going to work the other day and I had to ride.
Looking forward to it.
It sounds like you lead the ride Kat.
You’ll be posting ADV rides soon.
Great report.
Your bike looks good too.
You guys have got some of the best trails up there. I’m very envious.
Great video NickJ
Yeah. It looks like no Simpson crossing this year which is a pitty and understandable seeing as it only opened a couple of days ago.
Some guys are making good time on the spot trackers. The 990s would be eating up the open stuff.
Very inspiring to get the DR back on the road asap

All in a days work, from John
It is full on from about 5-30 am till 8-00 am then it setttles down to about 5 calls per hour. Then it heats up at about 6-0o pm to 9-00 pm.
Today in summary.
1. medivac 20 km west of dennilquin
2. 3 occasions where riders have been seperated from mates . They call me and I look at the spot trackers and tell them where they are.
3. Parts getting flown into two locations to keep riders going.
4.Track diversion put in place at a section after Dennilquin due to rain.
5. Marcelle my mechanic has done two phone consulstation on fixing stuff. On one of these the rider used there camera phone so marcelle could help diagnose the problem.
6. Diverted one rider with less experience around a difficult section, we had already nutted out a system where he would call me if he found one section hard so we could benchmakr his ability. With all this said it is the other riders on the course that are helping riders make it to the end of each day.

It looks like a lot of tar on the spots.
Man, this is good watching them and frustrating having my bike in pieces. My coffee has gone cold and I don’t know where an hour has gone while watching this.
Check out Darren Young. He has already done 6 days. Looks like a lot are turning back west of Birdsville. Probably havn’t got their floaty’s on.
Hey Boulder, Krusty’s place looks a lot dryer than when we stayed there.
The bore track is no problem for bikes. Myself and Tryhard rode it a couple of months back and MickP went down it a few weeks ago in a 4WD.
Sorry to hear you didn’t make Camerons Corner this time. Everyone is very helpfull out there.
Thankyou all for the birthday wishes.
I had the week off in the Hunter vineyards with no phone or puta and lots of wine. I asked the wife if I could take the bike and got a big no.
So I was lost in the vineyards. Nice place to get lost.
cheers
looks like a ride TB and looking forward to it.

Great Australian scenery. Might be venturing that way soon cause the Simpson doesn’t look like drying out.
