Still waiting for the infamous 5 forests ride. (when I’m not working)
Funny you should mention that Stuart. Probably a 5 Forrests ride on Saturday or Sunday 12/13 March. I’ll will probably be cut short due to my lack of fitness but we’ll give it a crack.
Saturday would be my preference at the moment, Sunday would be 50/50 at this stage with work coverage.
Saturday is my preference. Saturday night for pain relief in a bottle and Sunday to recover.

Seeya up at Micks

MurphOnly Pokolbin this Saturday. Watch this space.
Jeffro wrote:I have ridden there once before and would love to again but the shoulder is still not up to it. We went in along Cedar creek road last time which is the opposite side to where your starting. We come out at Cedar Cr Rd if we were doing a loop from Millfield.
Get well soon. I’ll miss the monty python singalongs Saturday Night in Wauchope if you’re not going to Micks bash.

Some shenanigans on the way to breakfast at the Museum
When confronted with two options of arriving to a destination, both need to be explored
option 1
option 2
After breky Sunday morning, a course was set on GavB’s new Garmin Zumo and the Central Coast crew set off from Nabiac for home.
We traveled through Wallamba SF, Wang Wauk SF, Buladelah SF
GavB and MickP GPSing
We were a bit reluctant to take Purgatory Rd, but it worked out ok
Gav led us down a steep decent
Just before we hit Buladelah
Stopped of for a drink and a latte at the first air conditioned shop we found in Buladelah. There was an old lady outside with a water misting spray bottle spraying another old lady to keep themselves cool. Should have fitted one to the dash of the bike. A spray water bottle……..not an old lady.
Sweet sweet airconditioning
Gav extending his leave pass
Back into the dirt we hit Myall Lakes SF and NP, and popped out onto the Buckets Way 3km south of Stroud.
Some rutty tracks and bog holes
We tried a couple of tracks to get across to Black Camp road but struck a few obstacles.
locked gate
Plan B planning
Second go to get across we came across mr farmer who bluffed us into not going through his property. We’ll have a go from the other side next time through.
GavB chatting to distract mr farmer while we snuck around and let his tyres down. Nah, not really.
Plan C meeting and we decided to tar it to Hexam roundabout where GavB and MickP would split from Chris and myself where we carried on to Kurri Kurri, Sandy Cr Rd and up through the Watagans, Yaramalong and Ourimbah SF.
Over the shoulder shot of Chris
it started raining at Kurri Kurri where we fueled and had a maggot bag
By the time we hit the Watagans there was no dust and the tracks we watered just right. Perfect.
Breather at the pines
Welcome to Ourimbah SF
Chris and I swapped bikes at the letter A to Wyong interchange. KTM 690, what a bike, what a hard seat. How does anyone do it without an air hawk. Seriously good bike though.
Chris and I parted at the Wyong freeway and the bike got a car lovers treatment and I got Thia takaway and a coldie or 2.
Cheers all involved in putting it on and great to meet up with old an new faces.

It was a top day anyway. I havn’t had to change a flat on a ride in ten years so got lotsa practice in one day.
Mick, a northern and southen groupd could meet at the western end of Tomalla Rd and and travel east together and seperate around Rookhurst.
That’s ok with me Huskybloke. Sounds like your negotiations skills are excellent.

Hi Lotsa and Tryhard,
It was great to see a familar ‘dirty OBT face’ up at Jerry’s. Enjoyed the chat and you gave me confidence that the Adventure ride I was doing on my own was ok. Had a ball – Letter A, Yaramalong (by mistake) back to Letter A then worked my way to Wyong then back up Ourmbah SF to Jerry’s for a refuel then down to St Albins to Wiseman’s Ferry for a schooner of Rum & Coke/chips. Then a tar ride home to Hornsby via Galston. Got home at 7pm stuffed. I so need to find someone to do Adventure rides that ride at my pace….[/quote]
Glad to hear you made it home safe. Now you know where you’re going you shouldn’t have any trouble posting up a ride gathering and leading at your pace. The more the merrier.

This spot come up on the topo map and also seems familiar, although it was about 12 years ago. I remember when entering the creek the water came over the bonnet of the landcruiser (momentarily) It may pay to have an alternative if its too deep
Adam.
Thanks Adam, looks like an easement from the road over the creek to the trail.

TB
Clive left and came back and left and I bought parts off him from a bike shop in toronto he was working at, then came back and I havn’t seen him for a while. Last time he sold me a tyre about 5 years ago I think.
Here are a couple of pics from the ride. Still working out this camera.
Adam on the trails
Outside Kulnura shop for a well earned drink

Having said that I live in Ourimbah so its no effort to go either day as long as I finish cleaning up after Xmas day (shouldn’t be a problem  )Adam.
pm coming your way adam
