Watch those roos. Lucky you weren’t riding.
If you don’t come along it looks like I will be going with nigel and he has no mates either.
I would have gone for that deal but couldn’t get that amount of capex past the CFO, so purchased a second hand unit and am now using the R&M budget to get it to operational readiness.
Sorry still in work mode.
The wife spat the dummy at 10k so I bought a used bike and am now buying bits and pieces to get it to what I want.
Just bought pannier racks and Andy Strapz bags from Vince though.
Mickp the stuff is ordered.
I’m driving out with mickp so only need parking space for one car and trailer.
Adventure moto are doing the frames and expedition panniers on the DR650 for $600. I’ll ring around and see if anyone can do better. I want to purchase asap.
On a side note the Giant Loop holds 30lt and is a great bit of gear. Saddle bags hold 40lt. The extra 10lt could come in handy.
A few photos to go with mickP’s report.
Stopped at the top of Murrays Run
We got to Howes Trail gate
All was going well until we got to the gate on Howes Trail just before the Putty Rd and Mick went to get something out of his pannier.
What is missing from this photo
So we went back to the Yengo turnoff looking for the contents of Micks saddle bag which we found in various placed. I think all was recovered except for the KTM tool pouch. We bumped into another Mick and his nephew and during our chat I mentioned I saw a mandarin, near a large tree right next to the track, that had come out of Micks saddle bag and I was going to pick up on the way back.
When I got there all I found of the mandarin was this
I hope it tasted nice MickMickP just over the bridge on the Commission track
Refuel from the super tanker on the California track
California track erosion humps
At the Putty end of Old Bulga track
Start of the Convict track
This is on the Convict track and apparently links up to the Yengo track.
Does anyone know.
Finished up at Brathwaite park in the dark.
Top ride even though it didn’t work out as planned.
Maybe lunch at Denman next Saturday I think.
No probs for the coasties. Bring your book Krusty and we’ll work it out. We all got working head lights havn’t we
Thanks for spotting that TB.
It’s the best I’ve seen.
count me in.
We’ll leave Braithwaite Park (west of wyong)at 7.30am should get us to Putty rd by 10am.
No fuel stops on the way because I haven’t got my big tank yet so MickP can be my super tanker.
Chicken can meet us at Letter A at the top of Murrays Run.
Bugger, missed this one TB. Worked away this week so didn’t get to the site till today.
Jeffro, are you keen for tomorrow then……or anyone else.
If no takers tomorrow, I’ll ride Sunday to Bilpin and back to the coast.

Quote:Nice report Lotsa, how did the giant loop go?It didn’t move at all and I didn’t even know it was there except the weight. I’m not as limber as I remember so swinging the leg over the bike and the giant loop was a bit of an effort at the end of the day. Most would ride with some thing on the back rack anyway so no difference really.
Good thing I reckon.

Quote:You can buy rims and actually SM Pro rims in Australia cheaper then that Krusty. Good rims ask around, I still have my race set, they have been around done Condo’s, Yellow Mountain’s, AD4E etc and 15,000kms of trailriding. Have taken my Yokos of and gone back to the SM Pro’s now. Crash runs them good gear IMOPS never heard of warp9
TB
My KTM rims lasted 2 years then replaced them with SMpro and did another 4 years till I sold the bike. They worked for me.
I am tenting…………does that mean something else as well, anyway
Got some new bits and spares delivered today from VSM to make the mighty DR Bushpig Cameron Corner ready. :woohoo:
I realised I had to buy a headlight protector after riding behind Tryhard on the Bulga ride.
Hope the weather has cleared some for this weekend riding.
