    Day 2
Bill opened up early to accommodate us with a top brekkie at 1980s prices

We set off south for home starting with some open dirt roads with NASCAR corners good for keeping corner speed high.

There were a few of these

Then headed up into the mountains

All logs chain sawed for us

If only I had my camera quicker

There were some nice little up and down hills with erosion humps

    And we ended up here

    Good sign
    P3160109_zpscf6692ce.jpg

A detour was in order which was more interesting than the road. The bush saw came in handy

We had lunch at Ellenborough Falls. Very nice curry. And a coffee. And a chocolate dessert thingy. No fuel in Elands at the moment. The shop has been taken over by a co op but they do sell liquor. And funny smelling cookies by the looks.

We were running out of light so slabbed it home from Taree. Got home at 8pm and had a beer in my hand at 8:00:30pm

Thanks fellas. Great riding country and company.

Geez, you blokes know how to sneak in some good rides on the quiet

I didn’t want to lead a bunch of blokes into the unknown

If it’s made into a nav ride you can lead yourself into the unknown

Got to do it again soon in reverse

My take and a few pics

I wanted to have a look north of Gloucester and pub stay for a night so loaded some tracks on the GPS from a previous ride, some from others and some unknown. A good recipe for an adventure ride.

It was going to be just a couple of us and ended up being six in total who were willing to potentially get lost, bogged, injured or a broken bike. GavB, llewdaert, Boulder, MickP and Reece.

After finishing up work on the Friday, I motored to Gloucester to meet up at the pub, finding GavB at Morisset and llewdaert at Stroud. The rain bucketed down on us the last part of the Buckets Way. It was an early night for some after a feed, drink, chat and drink.

    Day 1
After a cooked brekkie we left Gloucester and were met with this

I love a dirt road that disappears into the mountains
    P3150043_zps1b1d8c15.jpg

llewdaert stopped when he found he was Flintstoning his bike after a bit of a jump

    What’s missing
    P3150044_zpsfc90b365.jpg

A bolt was found to replace the foot peg and the good old vice grips added a bit more but llewdaert rightly decided it wouldn’t be very enjoyable riding the rest of the ride like that so he said goodbye and headed south.

Nice place to work on a bike though
    P3150045_zps5d16e72e.jpg

We came across a German guy on a Tenere 660 that had ridden from Perth just before the Oxley Hwy to chat to. I think he was a bit wary of our G’day. He gave us a wave as we regrouped at a turn a bit further on though.

Reecey saw the camera out and came up to pose for a photo
    P3150048_zps3d2d92fd.jpg

    P3150050_zps70c56564.jpg

Just around the next right hander there was a log off the ground on his side which I went round and from what I gather Reecey was all over the place to get around it which had us laughing.

It was a bit deceptively greasy in places and I had big front end loose which scared me half to death and I thought, I hope that doesn’t happen again, or I’m a goner.

I thought I was down but somehow, skill I’m sure, recovered the front. Reecy had a good view and was beeping his horn in our traditional way and we were laughing like hyenas.

I’m planning to be going past there next weekend and could probably detour to have a look. Or come along yourself

I have just mapped the route tonight and have not run these tracks before so we’ll see how we go.

If there s any interest out there to join me for an explore.. post up.

    Hi Lotsa,
If the rides open to anyone I would be interested.

Is it an overnight ride or just a day ride

To be honest I am not even sure where Youdales hut is,so don’t know if I live to far away to begin with to even go on this ride. 😆 with other family commitments on weekends :pinch:

    Cheers James

It’s not a proper ride as such James. More a couple of blokes getting lost in the bush.

Hope to have a chat with you on the next nave ride. Didnt get a chance at Woodstock

    Out of interest,,

Did anyone happen to see a small zippered black nylon bag in the Beer Garden on Pub ???
I have lost it with my phone , Scala & I Pod charger stuff :pinch:

Left a message on the pubs phone, so hope to hear back tomorrow maybe ,,,,,

Thought I saw someone walking around with one at the tables near the road asking if anyone had lost it. Maybe Amy, not sure. Maybe they handed it in to the pub.
