I had a great ride thanks Murph. Although short.
Yes the bike should have a kick start but it probably wouldn’t have got me through the rest of the ride. It looks like the battery failed and I’ve read that Li-ion batteries can fail and then not take any charge. Iy had enough the run the injection system but not start the bike. I have boost charged the battery and left it 24 hours and it still won’t turn the bike over. Put an old car battery on and it starts 4 times in a row cold.
The reduction gear that broke is apparently a common thing. I believe it’s a shear point to protect the starter motor but that just my option. I think murph’s fix will last forever but I’ll buy a new one anyway.
