Congrats on the new ride Mal, glad your enjoying it.
I have to ask the tough question mate, do you think you will miss the 2t ?

    PTW

Not sure Pete. I’ll wait til I get a few more rides on the 4T. I ride with the Gasser owner every week anyway so if I do miss it I’ll just jump on it and go for a ride.

They are both good to ride in different ways though. A local snotty ride and a Murphsberg will give me a good comparison.

I’m really impressed with this bike after the weekend. While it’s not rip your arms off super exciting power it still has more than enough for the type of riding I like.

I did 50km in Sunny Corner on Saturday with LC and we rode a mix of nice flow pine singles, rocky fire trails and some open fire trail. I lowered the bars that night to feel more comfy and it worked a treat on Sunday.

Sunday was a grade 3+ at Ben Bullen that had some rocky technical stuff and 50km of singles. Everyone (except LC and me) were complaining of sore arms so the suspension is close. A new rear spring and a new set of tyres will get this bike very close to been sorted.

I reckon you will get used to it very quickly Mal. You wont be able to blip yourself out of trouble as quickly as you could on the Gasser but you are more into line selection than muscling yourself over stuff anyway. I can’t wait to read a few ride reports once you get it dialled!!

    Enjoy.

Yeah I was playing around with blipping the front up yesterday and you’re right it doesn’t come as quick or easily. But we did a couple of snotty tracks with some rock steps and I managed ok. Once I get used to the motor and bloody engine braking it’ll be great to ride.

HA HA synced avatars are cool. LC’s does need more oil Squiggle.

I think I’m going to like this bike. :woohoo:

Suspension is a bit soft but a rear spring will fix that. The clickers were set at comfort. I set them to standard for tomorrow and put some pre load on the springs.

The power delivery is different and not as lively as the 2T but seems plenty once I found a sweet spot.

I am worried about the 300 4T not having the fun factor of the 300 2T but with an adjusted riding style I think I’ll manage to have some fun on it. :)

Henke should be ashamed of himself. That’s a waste of a great bike.

    Congrats Mal,
You certainly got your moneys’ worth out of the GG. I’d be interested in seeing your opinion of the difference between 300cc’s going Bang on every stroke compared to 300cc’s going Bang on every 2nd stroke!
    Crash

275 hours in two years on the Gasser :woohoo: and loved every minute of it.

Yeah it will be interesting the difference Crash. That’s why I bought this thing. There has been a lot of hype over them and i’m waiting for the 2T but they won’t be here until after christmas. My mate was keen on the gasser so I sold it. I’ll be riding with the gasser every week so we will be able to do a good comparison over the next few months.

Just had a quick spin around the yard after changing the 46T rear for a 50T. Even though they say it has very little engine braking, it still has more than the 300 2T.

Seems nice playing on some small obstacles and the one crack I had in the mid range seemed good. See how it goes over the next few days and play with with clickers and lever positions.

I have purchased Goldentyre mousses from Savage (Ben) and he was great do deal with. Not sure about the tyres. They look like an S12 as STM metioned. I think he was getting to Goldentyre tyres too.
