Yeah I think the internals are completely different and the adjustment is eaier on the EXP. I heard when the EXP came out the big thing about them was that they retain the clutch feel.
I’m not bagging the rekluse or blaming it for stalling. It was most likely a jetting/tuning issue.
I loved my rekluse while i had it. Now I have a nice light hydraulic clutch and don’t see a need for one YET.
I would put one in a 4 stroke if I went that way again.
It’s a wierd feeling for the first couple of rides. :woohoo:
Hey Mal. Did you own the EXP or the Z start?
Z start mate. EXP wasn’t out when I bought mine.

Mal can you please explain the “frustate the hell out of you” what issues do you see on the clutch?
Sorry STM, last highjack of your excellent review of a good product.
The three main frustations I had are to do with not having an electric start bike.
1) I couldn’t start it in gear if it stalled and you can still stall the bike. Very frustating mid corner. The clutch had a bit to much drag that I couldn’t adjust out of it without going to far the other way.
2) Not making up a nasty hill and having a brain fade when the bike finally stalls and starts rolling backwards a great rate of knots. Very frustarting and painfull when you and the bike are cartwheeling down the hill.
3) Not being able to clutch start the bike.
Highjack over. Might start a new thread on auto clutches.
Good report Lefty.
Will be interesting to see how it goes.
I tried to get some info on them back when I bought my rekluse. Wasn’t much around and they didn’t make them for my bike anyway.
Not a lot of info on the web site.
Good report STM.
Your right about the main difference with the Core EXP and the Z starts with clutch feel. The EXP retains the the original clutch feel and the Z start makes an hydraulic clutch very light and on my cable clutch it had the same feel.
Enjoy the clutch mate. It can make riding much more enjoyable in most situations and frustate the hell out you in a few.
Scotty wrote:Can someone explain the difference between the Rekluse and the Rev-lock clutch. Reading Lefty’s review of the Rev-lock and STM’s review of Rekluse they appear the same. The Rev-lock looks like a much simpler design and is less then half the price of the Rekluse. Also has the added benefit of being able to adjust it up to clutch start the bike if need be.Is there anybody that has ridden both who can confirm they do the same thing all be it in a different design?
I think the Dyna ring (Lefty’s) is only an anti-stall device. It auto engages from a stationary position but once moving you still have to use the clutch manually. But then again most people don’t use the clutch going up gears anyway so the Dyna ring is a good way to go. Also I don’t think the Dyna ring has the adjustment that the rekluse has. Rev-Loc have there own auto clutch which I was told a couple of years ago was a better system than the rekluse. Rekluse just marketed their’s better.
With the rekluse you can adjust the engaging rpm and also the engagment rate.
Happy Bitrthday TB.
Have a great day and don’t work to hard.
Great report guys.
Pictures don’t do the steepness justice.
Nice videos KTM_Rules. :woohoo: Gives everyone an idea of the effort needed for the Amozon track. :woohoo:
I reckon that Amozon track is around grade 5 too.
That’s like porn to you now Eagle.
I want to see that sort of action from you next we ride together. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Yep it is quiet here today.
axel wrote:Hey Mal, your brave doing ST with a bung knee. Every cm is a potential hazzard! The 3:58 vid above got me grinning in the first few moments. A creek crossing, distracted with wiping camera, wet tires, Mal falls off the track to the left, dodges tree
It was only the pine single that worried me Axel. Riding is always a calculated risk and the knee just factors into the calculations.
3:58 looked worse than it was. I didn’t want to stop and do it or Galey (Taddy) would be gone and I would never catch him.
I like the look of thses guys. Don’t know anyone with them but might try them next time.

A few guys a ride with use the Oakleys and are happy with them.
I have a pair of 89s too. They’re ok but I can see the edge of the frame while riding and it gets a bit annoying. I won’t buy a new pair until the foam starts to fall out.
Good luck with it mate. Lets us know what you decide.

They should’ve held hands and danced around the other way. That would look so cool on national telly.
Post up a photo if you can riverright. Someone might be able to give you some options if we can see to damage.
You might not have to buy another crank case, maybe some devcon type putty will hold the bolt in good enough for rego and then find a more permenant fix.
Can I ask how the chain decided to depart from the sprocket? Might be a trap for others fitting a new chain.
Good luck with it mate.
Hey Mick. How’s the leg?
Here’s the videos form the DSMRA ride. This is you on the 200 and I think Marty was there as well. Medogrocket and I lead that ride for you guys. That hill is always slippery but didbolical in the rain.
Thanks STM, oopppss sorry KING STM, I remember seeing that video and that’s one reason I didn’t want to put it on top of the helmet. Might try it anyway just for testing purposes.
Axel I usually stand up a lot more so the footage is better. But my knee and lack of fitness would only let me stand when I thought I should.
Three videos to go. Here the first two and the last will be uploaded later tonight.
Everyone from the birthday ride should remember this bit.
