Nickj wrote:A local guy we ride with had a Sherco (501??) and it was a bit problematic and not just due to maintenance . He got Tekniks to do a full suspension rework and I took it apart for the work to be done. One major fault was that the boot from air box to carbie ran so close to the pipe it was distorted and sucking unfiltered air. When we put it back together it was impossible to alter how the boot sat in conjunction with the pipe.
It maybe isolated to this model but worth checking out I’d thinkNick
I think all the 07s had that issue with the air box Nick. Probably 08 and 09 too. Mine melted the box outside the filter so was no real issue. I just patched it up and put a heat shield on to protect it.
I’m going to buy another Sherco soon if the Gasser goes or wait and sell the Gasser at the end of the year and buy the Sherco 2T.
Out of the Sherco, Husky and Gasser, the Sherco was easiest and quickest to get parts for. I have a dealer in town and he got Sherco engine parts in two days. Try and do that with Husky. I had to buy a kick start assembly of floor stock as my local Husky dealer couldn’t give me a definite delivery date. I’ve waited months for a front guard brace for the Gasser.
Now Sherco have decent suspenders I’ll be going back. Looked at a 300 4T today. :woohoo:
I sold my 07 510 within two months of advertising. Didn’t get what you would get for a KTM of same age but happy with with what I got for it.
Nice one Nick. Will good to see you go past me at Nundle flapping around off the back of it. From memory they have massive amounts of grunt. Way to much for me.

No worries mate.
It’s supposed to snow on saturday. :woohoo:
Rode 2 hours yesty arvo to see if we could do one track in reverse…….NO…unless it has dried out a bit today. Going the normal way was hard enough. It’s the last single for the day after (hopefully) 60 odd km of riding.
Rocket, you still coming in the morning? I have two guys from work coming for a spin.

  yeah that was a fun ride. The 2014 Shercos look nearly as good.

A better snowboarding weekend than bike riding. Have fun!No worries Axel. Tracks will always be there mate.
Rained all night here but this morning there is a big patch of blue sky. Bike packed and ready for a quick run late this arvo.

No, gone a couple of months ago.
Ollie, forks are done and back in the bike. Ready for a quick spin tomorrow arvo. Their time management needs looking into though. I drove 1.5 hours to pick them up and they hadn’t even started on the service. Forks had been there for a week and I had a rung a week before to make sure they would have the parts for them. So I waited an hour while the service was done. No riding for me yesty arvo.
twobanger wrote:Sounds interesting Mal never main stream in your shed mate, where do they sell them in nsw?30mins down the road mate. I had a 510 remember?
Anyway back to Ollie’s Gasser.
When you coming up for a ride Ollie?
Nice!
Nothing else to say really.
Nato wrote:What are you going to get next mal?Sherco :woohoo: 2T due in January 2014. Can’t wait to try them out.
It’s been raining here most of the day. Hopefully it stops tomorrow.
Snow on Saturday won’t be so bad. We’ll warm up quick enough. Sunday is a bit more open and it get really cold at Sunny Corner.
Nice buy Ollie. Looks neat.
Do you want a Nambo to go with your collection?
Great report and pics Ecks. Ben Bullen is a great place to ride. There is not many easy singles there. Every track I know has at least one hard section.
