Thanks for the replies. Heaps of good info.
I’ll probably just stick with the Hyde and whinge about it.
I have 6mm and 8mm stainless tube so might try and design something strong enough that looks ok as well.
I had a set of suzuki rims on my WR400 years ago. I machined a new hub for the rear and spacers front and back. You don’t need to go to that trouble these days. Just get on Ebay and find a set of motards wheels for the WR and fit them up. See if you can find a set with a cush drive rear hub. Your gearbox will love you for it. As Badbowie said if you hold your tougne right it goes together easy enough. It takes me about an hour to change to my Motard setup now and thats taking my time. Beer helps too.
When you first ride with the motard setup, just go easy on the bike as they turn much faster than a roadie and accelerate like a dog shot in the arse. Once you get used to it you’ll be scraping the footpeg on roundabouts before you know it. :woohoo:
Hey Bowie next time you got the motards on come up for a country pub run. It’s heaps of fun. :woohoo:

I think I fixed it. Just started playing with the new moderator buttons.
Hey Chris there’s no ‘preview’ button when I reply to a post anymore. Are we able to have it back? I liked using it to get the smilies in the correct spot.
Nice report Bol.
It is wierd when first start on a road type bike.
Maybe it was that you were on a BMW cause I heard you have to fairly old and and in the early stages of dementure to ride one of their ‘adventure’ bikes.
Good luck with what ever steed you choose for adventuring.
NOW get back on the WR and ring it’s neck!!!!! :woohoo:
There’s some serious talent in those vids. Robby is a freak, Taddy is a freak and Trey is just funny to watch.
Great stuff
Welcome to the site DRool.
Bender it’s raining and foggy at Sunny Corner and the tar is very slippery. Ride safe and enjoy yourself mate. We just got back from a quick loop and the hard pack clay is diabolical. The Pub at Hill End is a great overnight spot too.

Assumptions
I have to get a license from somewhere>>>>>>>>>>>>where
You have to join a club and then get a licence. Clubs are usually around $40 for the year and a full licence is around $280 for the year. Not sure if you can get a day licence for the state rounds. KTM_Rules will be able to answer that. Good info HEREI send my entry form in
Yes you do.Turn up sat morning for Scrutineering………………….which is?
Full check of bike for race worthyness. They check things like spokes, chain tension/tightness, brake lever operation, throttle returns freely, lights work and some other stuff. If your bikes in good nic you’ll be ok.Noise test………….stuff my muffler with steel wool and weld a dodgy baffle in to last 5 min or do you reckon it will pass (anyone who has heard my bike)
If you’re really concerned about noise of your bike, I may be able to get hold of a dB meter to check it for you. If you think it may be to loud then it probably is. WRs have a history of being loud.Riding is for 6 hours or 4 hours if your a guru / day
Yep you will probably be on the bike for 6 hours.obviously a timed event
Yes using time cards I guess. I’ll explain it (the best I can) in another post if you like. Can u have a pit crew or do you have to fix your own bike at refueling
Your pit crew can only change fluids like fuel, radiator fluid and oil. They can pass you tools but I believe you have to work on your own bike.wtf is a enviromat?
Oil absorbent mats to catch any fluids that full from your bike. Environmental stuff mate, everyones into it these days.what can u share with other riders I’m a caring sharing kinda guy(ie pit crew)
Yes you can share pit crews/riders. You can have one pit person helping as many riders as you want.do you do 5 hours riding in stages or at once(3.5 hrs if your rocket or MAL)
It has to do with the time card. You have a time to be at the next control. If you get to the service area (which is usually just before the control) early then you get a rest. If you just make it with a couple of minutes then it’s a refuel and off you again.Thats a start i’ll think off more
Ask away mate, I’m sure all the gun racers know heaps more than me.Bob
Hope this helps mate.
It’s working good on my 3 year laptop using Firefox.
I’m just wraped the animated avatars work.
Good stuff Chris. I’ll get my entry in by the end of the week. Should be a great event. :woohoo:

Yeah Cheers Mal, did that and it worked after a couple of goes, sweet it will still need fixing later but
Sweet got my moving Duffman back, yours is cool as well :woohoo:
Is the Hippo dancing? He is not on my Smart Phone
I do most my posting on my HTC desire and this interface is much harder to use. I have not opened it on my PC but as more people start to rely on hand held devices to access the web we should keep in mind how the site looks and loads on phones.STM
Yep the Hippo is dancing mate :woohoo: . Cracks me up every time that thing.
Good idea with the ‘smart’ phone hand held thingys. Every where you look now someone is wrestling with a ‘smart’ phone. Maybe Chris could develop an Old Bulls ‘app’ and sell it.

Looks good Chris. It shouldn’t take long to get the hang of.
Can we now use animated avatars?
One thing, the Latest Posts column on the left is not as defined/easy to read as the old version. Maybe the Topic could be in ‘bold’ text?
Haven’t had a chance to look over the whole site yet.
