I have 6mm and 8mm stainless tube so might try and design something strong enough that looks ok as well.

I had a set of suzuki rims on my WR400 years ago. I machined a new hub for the rear and spacers front and back. You don’t need to go to that trouble these days. Just get on Ebay and find a set of motards wheels for the WR and fit them up. See if you can find a set with a cush drive rear hub. Your gearbox will love you for it. As Badbowie said if you hold your tougne right it goes together easy enough. It takes me about an hour to change to my Motard setup now and thats taking my time. Beer helps too.

When you first ride with the motard setup, just go easy on the bike as they turn much faster than a roadie and accelerate like a dog shot in the arse. Once you get used to it you’ll be scraping the footpeg on roundabouts before you know it. :woohoo:

It is wierd when first start on a road type bike.

Maybe it was that you were on a BMW cause I heard you have to fairly old and and in the early stages of dementure to ride one of their ‘adventure’ bikes. :laugh:

You have to join a club and then get a licence. Clubs are usually around $40 for the year and a full licence is around $280 for the year. Not sure if you can get a day licence for the state rounds. KTM_Rules will be able to answer that. Good info HERE

Full check of bike for race worthyness. They check things like spokes, chain tension/tightness, brake lever operation, throttle returns freely, lights work and some other stuff. If your bikes in good nic you’ll be ok.

Noise test………….stuff my muffler with steel wool and weld a dodgy baffle in to last 5 min or do you reckon it will pass (anyone who has heard my bike)
If you’re really concerned about noise of your bike, I may be able to get hold of a dB meter to check it for you. If you think it may be to loud then it probably is. WRs have a history of being loud.

Riding is for 6 hours or 4 hours if your a guru / day

Can u have a pit crew or do you have to fix your own bike at refueling
Your pit crew can only change fluids like fuel, radiator fluid and oil. They can pass you tools but I believe you have to work on your own bike.

Oil absorbent mats to catch any fluids that full from your bike. Environmental stuff mate, everyones into it these days.

Yes you can share pit crews/riders. You can have one pit person helping as many riders as you want.

do you do 5 hours riding in stages or at once(3.5 hrs if your rocket or MAL)
It has to do with the time card. You have a time to be at the next control. If you get to the service area (which is usually just before the control) early then you get a rest. If you just make it with a couple of minutes then it’s a refuel and off you again.

I do most my posting on my HTC desire and this interface is much harder to use. I have not opened it on my PC but as more people start to rely on hand held devices to access the web we should keep in mind how the site looks and loads on phones.
