I might join this ride too. I’ve got some stuff on that weekend but may be able to get out for part of the ride.

Husky is ready to go. Swapped the rear tyre for a better looking one from the shed. Fixed the chain, new rear brake pads and replaced a bolt that went missing on the last ride and she’s good to go.

Ride bag, swag and chair packed. Off to the butchers this week to get some meat for a gourmet mixed grill for spidy and me. :woohoo:

Don’t worry Choppa I will look after our webbed super hero for you.

Had a great day thanks Twobanger.

We were on the bikes by 7:15am in the misty rain and straight into the tight stuff. Twobanger led us through some nice tracks until the flying chain debarcle  . With that sorted we were off again with nice flowing tracks.

Some of the tracks close to the camp ground have had a flogging with all the rain and then the weekend warriors doing multiple laps on then. But they were fun, just had to be carful in some of the muddy sections.

Once we got further out and I worked out where we were I showed Twobanger some tracks he hasn’t been on before and found one I hadn’t been on too :woohoo: . They are rarely used and flow really nice. They also linked up with another track to make an awesome loop if we had enough fuel. Next time I’ll do a fuel dump Twobanger and we can do the whole loop.

We cruised the fire trails back to the cars as we were all running low on fuel. I carried an extra 2 litres and put it in at the 25km mark. When I fueled my bike today it took 9 litres.

One of many highlights was when Twobanger went past a track I wanted to go on and I said to the other guys to wait and I’ll go get him. He was about 2km down the road waiting when I turned up and said there’s a track back there. So we raced back knowing no one else would be on the road. Two 2 strokes on song from corner to corner side by side was just a great feeling.

    Thanks Twobanger.

Only got a couple of pics.

    WTF!!!!

    Boony have you gone mental!

Firstly you buy a KTM and secondly it’s a 640.

Did you get a bag of spare bolts with it.

Here’s tip before you off to far from home. Remove all the bolts from the bike and put them in a bucket. Then buy 2 litres of high strength Loctite and pour into the bucket and let soak for a day or two. Now put the bike back together.

Sorry mate but hey have a reputation for vibration and losing bolts. :(

Congrats for adding a bike to the family mate. :)

We will have to organise that day out at Louee so we can throw it around the motocross track.

Yeah maybe the fear of pain slowed us up a bit. Although I nearly stepped off the back of the raptor once.

Louee is a definate in about 3 weeks mate :woohoo: :woohoo: I think it might throw me around the motocross track though.

Well what an afternoon! Had 3 hours sleep after night shift and then packed up the Husky and headed out to the Capt’s place for a spin on the new toys for the new show.

I jumped on the YZ first because a racing style quad scares me. It’s been nearly 10 years since I rode a YZ250 and not that much has changed. They still have a crap load of power and just keep reving. It took about 10min to gently work up to using the band for some little wheelies and then chasing the Raptor around was so much fun as the YZ turns so quick and the Raptor doesn’t  .

The rear shock on the YZ must be set up for motocross as it is way to firm and the rebound is way to quick. Every time you hit a small rock or bit of grass it bucked and tried to eject the pilot  . But Furious will sort that out soon enough and a few other pilot comfort issues. Then the bike will even more fun to ride. :woohoo:

The Raptor was different to ride at the start. It’s short and narrow with a big grunty engine in it. It took a lot longer to get the hang of. It bounces around on the rough stuff and if you try to fight it it’ll wear you out real quick. After about 30 min of trying different riding styles we found standing to be the most user friendly way to ride the big girl. It has so much grunt for wheelies, you lean back and open the throttle and up she comes. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks for the arvo Capt and thanks to your wife for taken the photos and videos. I had a great afetrnoon.
