    Hey Boony,

I had a ride booked for this weekend, but it has been moved. Which means I can make this one if you have a spot for me. :)

Also if anyone has a spare bunk in a cabin let me know.

    Admin in Boonys cabin???Mmmmmm

There could be all sorts of “moderating” going on. I could let you in on all the Admin secrets. If I knew any

It would take a major issue for me to stop riding. But I would take what ever type of riding I could get and go back to other hobbies I was doing years ago as well.

While bikes are a big part of my life, they are not the best part of my life and I could survive without them easily enough.

After a serious grass track session the other day, Medogrocket and I had an impromptu informal meeting over a few beers and some Erzberg DVDs for inspiration and we’ve thought of some more hills and tracks in the area. We’ll try and slip out at some stage soon and have a go on them.

Too the party or up the 3 steps?

To the party mate. I might leave the 3 steps alone. Too many memories of the local hospitals for me :S

Kram your personal ambo service will be available and if you supply a red flashing light she will be able to shave about 10min of the trip.

This is why they built it, to keep these things away from NSW apparently, these thins run around everywhere around the camerons corner vicinity so the myth goes,Mmmmm

Mal5.1 and Medogrocket the local gurus will be scouting out a couple of decent hill climbs for our king of the hill award.

How about 2 Steps or even worse 3 Steps? No one will get up 3 steps!!

Don’t know about us being local gurus….

2 Steps would be to easy unless we have time trials up it. :)

You’re correct with 3 steps, I doubt anyone could ride up it cleanly.

There is also the Runaway Dozer Hill and Ski Run in the area to consider too. :)

Have you tried getting up 3 steps KTM_Rules? I rode down it and it scared the crap out of me. :(

    thanks for all feedback fellas…

Do you guys with the pressure suits wear it as the first layer then layer on top of it? What do you wear on top of it?

I think maybe I was uncomfortable this past weekend because I had a t-shirt, log sleeve shirt then a jumper.. I then put the pressure suit on.. :woohoo:

Holy crap Krusty. How do fit all that gear UNDER your pressure suit. I wear a skins type long sleeve top under my suit and a long sleeve shirt if it’s cold and then just the jersy over the top.

I like my pressure suit, I feel very unprotected when it’s not on.

Are you just checking the valve clearance or taking the head for a service?

If it is just a clearance check then that’s easy and ‘tooextrememx’ is on the money with his video. If the valve shims need replacing then the cams have to come out and new shims purchased. Before you start take some close up photos of where the dots on the cam gears are and also mark (with a white marker or liquid paper) a cam tooth to the chain link with the motor at TDC. This way you’ll know where everything should be.

I know on the old WR400 and 426, to get the YZ timing the exhaust cam was retarted by one tooth. I’m not sure if the 450 is the same. I was told that you lose what little bottom end torque the 400 had but gain a quicker reving engine. I decided against the YZ timing for that reason. But i did do some creative timing as the cam gears had moved on the shaft.

If your cams are still in then check the valve clearance and then change the timing. You’ll only have to pull the cams out once. Good luck with it. Take your time and follow the manual and you’ll be sweet.
