Good to see you back XY.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the Mexicans. Oh just thought, are you a Mexican or southern NSWman?

Only butterflies I have is if the Husky will make it through just one ride without something leaking or breaking. :(

    See you there mate. :)

Sounds like a good trip Kat. I’m sure you’ll be ready by then.

You’ll have to come back up to Sunny Corner and do a rock garden tour.

I would highly recommend a steering dampener for all the sandy a rocky sections you’ll be doing. It will reduce fatiuge and save you arse on many occasions.

I have a set mate. Put them on the Sherco for while and found they sucked more air then they released. Thought it might have been the thread not sealing properly so put them on the Husky and they did the same thing. Now they are just a bit of bling sitting on the bench. I just get the screw driver out mid ride now.

Do you have any photos of the repairs you require?

Are XR frames chrome molly steel or thick walled mild steel?

No photos yet.. I will try and take a few.. I believe mild steel..

I basically have 2 issues one minor and one major.. Under the motor are the 2 tubes like in the above photos.. One of those tubes has a 5 cent piece size hole(maybe bigger) on the under side.. The other is at some point the kick stand was torn off and the re-weld is a bit dodgy and I wanted that cleaned up as well.. The work on the underside is no where near as big a job as the example I provided..

I do know some parts of the frame are extremely thin I watched a mate try and re-weld his kick stand on a 250 and poked holes everywhere.. I believe it will require someone with a lot of Tig skill.. That Penrith mob seems to be the way to go as Greg Ball said he was too busy and couldn’t consider it for 4-5 weeks.. Unless of course someone among the clan is skilled and willing to work for Bundy/Beer.. 😆

I maybe able to help you out c-e-l. When do you need it done by? What area are you in? I have welded some bits back on a mates bike and he was very happy with the job.

I used to to run heavy duty tubes all the time and only had a couple of flats over the years. Now I’ve got these ultra heavys from Suttos and with the high profile of the Pirelli scorpians I don’t think I even hit the rim anymore.

I used that goo in my old bike and it sealed up a few small punchures. Keep forgetting to put it in this bike.
